Ferragamo’s Pre-Fall is All About Summer Fun

What is summer if not for lazing about the beach and attempting to build sandcastles? The same could be said for Ferragamo, with their pre-fall campaign serving as an ode to sandy fun. Set against a backdrop of Italian sculptures rendered as sandcastles, Maximilian Davis’ vision for warm weather dressing includes plenty of vacation friendly raffia as seen in totes and mules as well as the brand’s signature Hug style. Also in the mix are pajama tailoring as well as breezy caftans. Also worth noting in the campaign are accessories that feature the Venna motif, a historical logo designed by Lucio Venna in the 1920s including a denim handbag, mules, sandals, and sneakers. “Ferragamo and Venna collaborated to create artwork that wasn’t to do with product: it was just about making really good imagery – and that collaboration made me particularly interested in that period, when Italians were using art as a rebellious form of expression,” says Davis via the press release. Laura Dern Takes a Ride on the Vivier Express

While most train travel in the United States is barely tolerable at best, there’s a certain romance that comes with boarding a plush locomotive as it rattles through scenic landscapes. It’s the allure of the latter that serves as the basis for Roger Vivier’s Travelling Icon series. The first of these short films features Laura Dern in a scenario dreamed up by Gherardo Felloni. Dern, clad in the brand’s I Love Vivier pumps and clutching the Viv’ Choc handbag, boards a steam powered train that’s decked out in brass and pink velvet — a nod to the brand’s signature aesthetic. As it winds through the French countryside, she finds herself across from a handsome stranger and their feet almost graze. As she stares out the window, he sketches with only the purse between them. When the ride ends, he departs and leaves behind a sheet of paper. As for the contents? Well, despite Dern’s beauty and elegance, it may not be what the viewer expects, making for a charming and visually striking way to highlight the brand’s latest offerings. Jimmy Choo Goes For Classic California Glamor

Picture a warm weather scene and chances are, it looks a lot like California with its golden light, palm trees, and dreamy scenery. For Jimmy Choo, that imagery is the inspiration behind their summer 2024 collection and who better to star in it by Sydney Sweeney? “It’s about the contrasts you can find in the same place, a mix between dressed up and dressed down, exploring all its different facets,” says Sandra Choi, creative director via the press release. She uses words like relaxed, open, free and positive to describe the vibe as Sweeney takes a road trip through Palm Springs. Styles like their Drop and Diamond heels in shades like green, yellow, and lilac reflect the color palette you’d expect on the coastline while the Cece mule takes its inspiration from the Western boots and cowboy culture seen more inland. And because what is Cali without red carpet glamor, you’ll also find strappy sandals and glittery mules as well. To go along with the shoe, naturally there are bags. One key design to note is their Cinch style, which is an elongated day bag that comes in neutrals as well as printed pony and pink — an option to suit any California girl.

The town is where Hubert de Givenchy’s summer estate, Le Clos Fiorentina, is located and serves as the inspiration behind the brand’s Plage collection. First launched in 2023, the breezy line is full of warm weather favorites with an emphasis on French linen. The fabric is a favorite of the couturier’s, especially when rendered in nautical or Proveçal stripes or a print inspired by his lemon grove. Mugler Goes Into the Archives For Their Latest Handbag

With a history of unique designs like Mugler, who could blame Casey Cadwallader from diving into the archives every now and then? For the brand’s latest handbag, that’s exactly what he did. The Zenith, first introduced back in the 90s, was a slouchy tote complete with star-shaped clasp. For the new version, the brand’s signature star detailing remains, albeit in a smaller capacity. As for the silhouette, it gets a modern update, in the form of a structured and angular body that’ll hold its shape as it contours to the body. Available in classic colorways like black and silver, the new Zenith also comes in pink calf leather and medium blue washed denim for those who prefer a more whimsical version. And because we’re living in a digital world, each bag comes with a blockchain-based digital passport and QR code to record and guarantee its authenticity as well as unlock a series of benefits.
