Giorgio Armani, the great fashion maestro, explored his aesthetic roots for AW25. Fifty years into his long career, every show is a masterclass in Armani style – that unique marriage of purity, precision and softness that he has perfected over five decades. The lines were pure with an elegant flow, with jackets and coats rich with embroidery and texture, but never overworked – this designer instinctively knows when enough is enough. Most were worn with trousers which nodded to the designers enduring appreciation of silhouettes from the East and Far East.
This AW25 collection was rendered in the softest fabrics, velvet cashmere and jacquard silk which helped express the ease that is the designers signature. Armani focused on his beloved greige, as well as volcanic hues and mineral glows perhaps inspired by his home on the volcanic island of Pantellaria.
He saved the best for last, in the eveningwear section were long, weightless gowns that glistened with shimmering embroidery. You’ve heard the saying Italians do it better? Armani – always true to himself and codes honed over decades – does it best of all.
