Colorful compacts, brushes, and nail files that’ll sell out fast.
Back in 2021, Chanel released a series of red and black compact mirrors. Priced at just under $42, they were an affordable luxury — a designer item that doesn’t feature paying four figures or more to own, making it accessible to most people. Of course, that accessibility led it to become a TikTok sensation and the pieces sold out quickly. This July, the brand is back with their Codes Couleur collection, a limited edition series consisting of not just their best-selling compact mirrors but also a trio of brushes tucked into a pouch as well as a monogrammed nail file. In nine different shades spanning yellow to blue to pink, the colorful pieces are poised for their own viral social media moment.
All nine hues in the limited edition beauty line are taken directly from pre-existing colors within the Chanel beauty line whether it’s a 131 Cavalier Seul, a grayish blue green, 147 Incendiare, a vivid orange-red, or 129 Ovni, a buttery yellow. The idea is that you can buy the compact, nail file, or makeup set and get makeup to match in one fell swoop.
As far as the pieces themselves, the Les Pinceaux brush trio is the most expensive of the bunch, at $130. Consisting of a dual-ended eye shadow applicator, a tapered 2-in-1 foundation brush, as well another meant to be used for blush, they’re tucked into a colorful bag that’ll keep things tidy. For those who missed out on getting a compact the first time or are looking to add more to their collection, the price has gone up a hair, coming in at $45 versus the $42. And finally, for the most affordable luxury of them all, the nail file is $30. Grab it with the matching nail polish for a thoughtful gift, even if it’s just for yourself.
