Like clockwork the first week of December is always when the fashion and art worlds collide down in Miami, for Art Basel. This year is no different, as the collectors descended upon the city to snap up the latest additions to their archives before the fairs open up to the public. And it’s during this time that there are parties and noteworthy installations aplenty. For Fendi, it’s their yearly setup at Design Miami, this time featuring London-based furniture designer Lewis Kemmenoe while Cartier continued their year-long celebration of their Trinity collection, which is 100 years old. As for Miu Miu, it served as the perfect moment to throw a bash in honor of the latest addition to their Miu Miu Selects initiative, as Gigi Hadid welcomed guests to check out her special curation.

Fendi’s Puzzling Design Miami Installation
Every year Fendi sets up shop at Design Miami with surreal, immersive displays that feature artists that capture the spirit of the brand. For 2024, they’re partnering with London-based furniture designer Lewis Kemmenoe. Known for blending functionality with design, the installation, ænigma, plays on the Latin word for riddle or puzzle as well as its meaning in English as something that’s difficult to understand or explain. This translates to a series of chairs, alabaster vases, lamps, and even a one of a kind Peekaboo bag, all celebrating the interplay of organic materials like timber, and industrial elements like metal. Inspired by his visit to the brand’s headquarters in Rome, Kemmenoe incorporates Italian architecture alongside the atelier’s garment patterns into his patchworked timber designs, combining craft and couture. Select pieces will also be seen in the windows of Fendi’s newly renovated boutique in Miami’s Design District, should you be in town.
Cartier Celebrates the Trinity Collection in Miami
How do you mark 100 years of Cartier’s iconic Trinity collection? Spend the year celebrating, of course. The latest activation surrounding the pieces is a pop-up in Miami’s Design District that runs through December 8th. This immersive experience takes visitors on a journey through the collection’s history, from its 1924 debut by Louis Cartier to its reinventions, including animal motifs debuting in limited North American editions. With rooms honoring figures like Jean Cocteau and Trinity’s influence within pop culture, the exhibit also showcases jewelry from Cartier’s archives. Miu Miu Throws a Party For Gigi Hadid’s Curated Selection
For the last five years Miu Miu has been teaming up with women that they feel embody the sensibilities of the brand as a part of their Miu Miu Select program. From the likes of Georgia May Jagger to Sydney Sweeney to Cailee Spaeny, the lineup is exactly the type of cool girls that you’d want curating their favorites from the new season. The latest to the roster? Gigi Hadid. Of course, a party was needed to celebrate and it came in the form of a cocktail event during Art Basel Miami at their Design District boutique. Famous friends including Camila Cabello, Gabrielle Union, and Paloma Elsesser made an appearance. For those who made purchases, hand-sewn tags signed by Gigi Hadid were added to each piece and come in custom-designed packaging. And for those who want to shop the selection now, you’ll also find them for a limited time in-store and online.
When Skate and Art Meet
Art Basel Miami might be 3,000 miles away from Los Angeles but the latest collaboration between Sterling Ruby’s S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. and Vans is timed perfectly to the art fair. The two are back with a second OTW by Vans collection, blending art and fashion with punk-tinged flair. The seven-piece lineup includes jack-o-lantern covered apparel and four footwear styles: Old Skool 36, Sk8-Hi 38, and Slip-On 98 in two colorways, set on OTW Vibram soles. Ruby’s signature monster claws and gritty graphics, alongside the slogan “ABSOLUTE CONTEMPT FOR TOTAL SERENITY,” give the collection a rock edge. Punk band Mannequin Pussy also stars in the campaign, photographed by Nayquan Shuler while performing their latest song I Got Heaven. Check out this celebration of creativity, available now.
Dior’s Glitzy Holiday Spread
In a festive homage to Christian Dior’s love for holiday gatherings, Cordelia de Castellane has presented a gorgeous Christmas table at Château de la Colle Noire, a favorite of the couturier. Set against rich red backgrounds, the table features Dior Maison’s Le Noël de Monsieur Dior collection, including Limoges porcelain plates with gold cannage designs and monogrammed embroidered napkins. Crystal glasses with the Chevron motif add to the luxury, creating an atmosphere of timeless elegance. Balenciaga’s Pre-Fall Collection Goes Behind-the-Scenes
When a brand prepares for their runway show, they take a series of internal-use images. Stripped of hair and makeup, these photos are meant to finalize styling. For Demna at Balenciaga, that serves as the starting point for the pre-fall 2025 collection which focuses on the concept of a comfortable everyday wardrobe that goes from casual to evening. You’ll find interpretations of the t-shirt ranging from a cocoon style maxi to a fitted bodycon mini. Tracksuits, a Balenciaga staple gets reinterpreted in fabrics like nylon, linen and even as a Old Hollywood caftan rendered in viscose jersey. You’ll also see suiting, albeit consisting of hooded zip-up jackets and trousers plus hybrid designs that riff on everything from Western leather jackets to football jerseys. And being that Demna loves a collaboration you’ll see several. The first, with Scholl, consists of sweatsuits with memory foam leather neck pillows while another is with Autombili Lamborghini, where the two created a leather racing jacket among other pieces. To round it out, a link up with Scholl, creating what they dubbed as “the most comfortable shoes ever made” with styles that have orthopaedic cork footbeds incorporated into stilettos, heels sandas, and boots.
A Stylish Ode to a New York Classic
Sit back and relax, as luxury sleepwear brand Olivia von Halle teamed up with the iconic Carlyle Hotel to create a limited edition cocktail pajama and eye mask. The collaboration celebrates both the hotel and New York’s timeless charm. Featuring a print inspired by classic locations in the city from Central Park to the hotel’s signature Bemelmans Bar, the collection channels the elegance of icons like Coco Chanel. Hand-drawn in London and screen-printed on silk, these pieces are a cozy yet glamorous way to get your beauty rest. Available online and at The Carlyle, you can expect both comfort and style this festive season.
Moncler Hits the Slopes
Perhaps no other luxury brand is more synonymous with elevated ski and après style than Moncler Grenoble. After staging a show in the moonlit forests of St. Moritz last year, their fall 2024 collection hits stores, accompanied by a Mario Sorrenti shot campaign. Starring the likes of three-time Olympic gold medalist snowboarder Shaun White, five-time World Champion mogul skier Perrine Laffont, and Wold Cup salom skier Lucas Pinheiro, the trio take to the slopes of Zermatt to highlight the season’s best pieces. With styles that combine fashion and function you’ll find technical fabrics as well as corduroy and wool flannel that has been weather-proofed against the elements, For women, skiwear includes quilting and embroidery inspired by snowflakes while après includes 3-D style knitwear and long-hair alpacacoats along with shearing boots and bags. As for the menswear styles? Quilted styles that resemble ice formations are the star of the show. And what would a ski collection be without actual skis, helmets, goggles, and gloves as well as a special Shaun White designed snowboard, co-branded with with White’s brand WHITESPACE.
Skims and The North Face Team Up
Speaking of ski collections, here’s one that no one expected but in retrospect, makes plenty of sense: SKIMS and The North Face launched a collab made for the slopes. The result is a series of head-to-toe looks in the SKIMS signature hues that look equally at home on black diamond runs as they do on by the fire with a hot toddy. With a campaign shot by Vanessa Beecroft featuring a cast making their way down the spectacular mountains in Chile as well as another photographed by Donna Trope starring Kim Kardashian in pieces like the Refina bodysuit as well as the Refina long sleeve and seam tapered pants, it’s a perfect blend of both worlds. In honor of the partnership you’ll see custom in-store displays that take SKIMS’ signature curves along with The North Face’s technical details in a tonal monochromatic palette. Christian Louboutin Revamps Their Madison Avenue Flagship Boutique
No one does a sexier pair of heels than Christian Louboutin and for those seeking to get a pair of red bottoms for themselves, look no further than their newly revamped Madison Avenue location. The 4,000 square-foot space first opened back in 2015 but has gone a renovation to reflect the designer’s love for Egypt as well as the spirit of a seaside holiday. Designed to resemble a Manhattan oasis and inspired by Mr. Louboutin’s traditional Egyptian dahabiya, which is traditional wooden sailboat, the idea is to welcome guests into the tranquil home of a friend. You’ll notice the signature red glazed wall tiles and carpets upon entry as well as teh scent of the brand’s Fétiche Le Cuir perfume. Antique wrought iron gates divide the men’s and women’s sides while Mr. Louboutin’s personal collection of crystals and geodes serve as decor. As a nod back to the Egyptian-influences, there are also hand-sketched papyrus plinths, textiles featuring floral and aquatic illustrations by Louis Barthelemy for Pierre Frey, and bespoke Nile-inspired sconces.
