Gucci Finds the Light

Cold and dark winter nights turn into bright spring days eventually. It’s fitting then that Gucci’s latest ad campaign is titled Where Light Finds Us. Written by Creative Director Sabato de Sarno and directed by Xavier Dolan, it stars Yara Shahidi and George MacKay as two souls in a suspended moment where light filters through, unveiling that which is invisible at first glance. The two create a connection told through small movements and the interplay of light and shadow. “[The collection] is a celebration of humanity in its most vivid and tender forms and this campaign is not just about fashion – it’s an ode to the fleeting, extraordinary moments that define what it means to be human,” says de Sarno via the press release. Highlighted prominently in the images is the Bamboo 1947 bag, a symbol of the brand’s roots as well as its future reflecting an equilibrium central to de Sarno’s vision for Gucci.

Loro Piana Goes to Brazil

Another spring ad that just dropped this week is by Loro Piana. Shot by Mario Sorrenti in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the sunny climate provides the perfect backdrop for warm weather dressing, especially in contrast to the beautiful architecture of Oscar Niemeyer. Set at Niemeyer’s iconic Casa das Canoas, the elegant images star the likes of Angelina Kendall, Leon Danne and Anok Yai. Clad in pops of red, yellow, as well as classic neutrals, linen is the focus here — fitting since it’s a quintessential summer fabric that reflects the brand’s 100 year history of textile know-how.

Set against city skyline backgrounds, the campaign combines allure and intensity with Butler’s magnetic presence, as Saint Laurent embarks into a new era.

Shot by Carin Backoff, Rosé wears the brand’s velvet lace slip dress and the soft lounge hoodie and boxer set. Romantic and playful, you’ll find delicate lace, and heart motifs. “Valentine’s Day has always held a special place in my heart,” says Rosé via the press release. “Maybe it’s also because it’s only a few days after my birthday, it feels special to me, almost like a second round of a birthday.”
