INCORP World, founded by mother-daughter duo Kira and Vanessa Lillie is a multi-sensory project based in community.
Fragrance has always had a profound way to evoke emotions, including a sense of healing, be it the spiritual or physical kind. With that in mind, and being born from a lineage of healers, Kira Lillie and her mother Vanessa sought to carve out new space, beyond the perfunctory definition of wellness. The result? INCORP World as an interdisciplinary community focused on sharing health through art, beauty and celebration. Featuring a triad as the logo, a symbol of Celtic origins, for Kira it was a deliberate choice due to its many layered meanings. “[It represents] this community of my grandmother, my mother and me.” By tapping into Vanessa’s profound understanding of essential oils and their beneficial impacts, while drawing from Kira’s artist vision and network, the lifestyle platform debuted with a limited edition series of all-natural essential oil fragrances.
Featuring three scents titled I, YOU and WE, the brand is rooted in the alternative practice of aromatherapy, created to cleanse, support and guide the wearer throughout their day. From a cleansing citrus base, and the support of grounding scents like sandalwood and thyme to guiding notes of rose – each one offers different but equally purposeful properties. Getting to this end product was a multi-artist sensorial project, as it took a cohort of creatives. Produced in Belgium, the scents were crafted in collaboration with Norwegian nose and smell researcher Sissel Tolaas. Custom flaçons were hand-blown by artist Samuel Reis to mimic the size of a human heart and fit in the palm of your hand. Every aspect of the concept is multi-functional — made as a piece of art, that you can refill and reuse for years to come. To finish, brass tops were designed by Ugo Cacciatori and double as a seal as well as an acupressure tool.
In addition to the three scents, you’ll also find hand carved massage tools available in obsidian, opal or tiger’s eye. According to Kira, the stones offer healing properties, including protection, confidence, and creativity; selected to match the characteristics of the three scents. While they can be used on their own, they also nest snugly as a unique stopper for the bottles. Finally, to round out the product offering, miniatures that take inspiration from Reis’ designs. The travel-sized version comes on a chain, a unique accessory to embellish your belt loops or necklace stack.
Kira’s intentions to create with love and care shine through in every detail, down to the packaging. The three scents include their own respective poems in addition to a body map indicating seven simple pressure points. “The idea is to empower people about their body,” explains Kira. “The more you know about yourself and how to support yourself, the better you are in the world.”
