GAME THEORY
Unfolding like a supersized game of chutes and ladders, the SS26 Louis Vuitton menswear show advanced with kinetic confidence, with each look clicking forward like a counter across a graphic board. Staged in the sun-splashed, color-blocked courtyard of the Centre Pompidou, Pharrell Williams dialed nostalgia into futurism, fusing bright tailoring, sporty accents, and a youthful precision that felt both polished and refreshingly direct.
More than 60 models, cast by Anita Bitton and Calvin Wilson, moved through the space with a summery ease. Djairo Mulder led the charge, followed closely by the likes of Hoyong Kim and Fernando Cabral. They wore layered striped shirting, liquid-like denim, neat shorts, and piped outerwear, with softened suiting taking center stage.
Hair, in the hands of Karim Belghiran, was kept close to the scalp with a glossy sheen that looked aerodynamic and smooth to the touch, shifting with subtle movement rather than flourish. On skin, Pat McGrath delivered a finish that felt like daylight pressed into skin: fresh, sheer, and softly gleaming. There was no heavy sculpting here, just boys made luminous and natural as they awaited their next move.
This was a beauty story pared back to its most modern essentials: healthy skin, tidy hair, and an effortless confidence that let Pharrell’s summer vision take every square on the board.
