Louis Vuitton Taps Two Tennis Legends For Their Core Values Campaign

Just in time for Rolland Garros, Louis Vuitton’s core value campaign is back, starring two tennis icons: Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Shot by Annie Leibovitz, instead of hitting the court the two stars are captured hiking up Italy’s snowy Dolomite mountains. Throughout the snapshots, the duo are seen as friends, not foes, showing that they’ve developed friendship and respect for one another throughout their long careers. Federer slings a Monogram Christopher backpack across his back as a nod to timeless style and implying the mark Federer has left in tennis. Similarly, Nadal wears the Monogram Eclipse which is a representation of his strength. This new campaign is honoring the house with the help of athletes who “carry their stories like they do their rackets-in style, elegance, and humility,” says Louis Vuitton. 

Chanel’s Hamptons Boutique Reopens For the Season

Heading out east this summer? Just in time for Memorial Day and the start of the season, the Chanel Hamptons Ephemeral Boutique in East Hampton, has re-opened. This unique 2,500-square-foot two-floor store, with its signature gray shingled house, brings shoppers to the heart of Paris, offering a curated selection of clothes, watches, jewelry, makeup, and perfume. Light-filled and summery, you’ll find the Métiers d’art collection from last December, which is a playful homage to the 60s as well as 80s pop culture and music. Naturally seaside-friendly pieces abound as well, as the space will stock the Coco Beach collection. This season features marine-inspired stripes, iridescent fabrics, and pastel tones reminiscent of a sunset — the perfect pieces for enjoying a glass of rosé as day turns into night.

Toteme Sets Up Shop in Los Angeles

Everyone’s favorite cool girl minimalist Scandinavian brand Toteme has made its way to the West Coast, with a new shop in Los Angeles. Located at 8910 Melrose Avenue, in the heart of West Hollywood, the unique space is a collaboration with Swedish design studio Halleroed. Bringing a modern and Art Deco flair to the streets of LA with its striking geometric shapes and the brand’s signature monogram, the store is not just a shopping destination but also an art gallery. Featuring curated works showcasing the talent of female Swedish artists, you’ll see pieces like Theresa Traore’s Idrix III, a striking melting bronze sculpture, a 1960s polar bear sculpture by Lisa Larson for Swedish porcelain company Gustavsberg, among others. Currently shoppers will find the pre-fall collection as well as the brand’s very popular shoes and bags.

Tyler Ellis Drops a Slim Aarons Collaboration

Speaking of summer, Tyler Ellis, daughter of American fashion designer Perry Ellis, is launching a collaboration with the estate of the iconic photographer Slim Aarons. Known for his photos of high society, business tycoons, actresses and more on vacation, his images are synonymous with luxurious warm weather escapes. To honor Aaron’s legacy, Ellis took three of his most famous works: Sunbathing by the Sea in Florida from 1955, Beach at St Tropez in 1977, and Hotel du Cap Eden Roc from 1976, and placed them on recyclable PVC leather made by artisans in Tuscany. This 25-piece limited edition collection launches on Ellis’ website starting May 30th, with prices ranging from $2,500 to $5,000. With each sale, 10% is donated to The Fashion Trust U.S., a non-profit dedicated to helping out young, talented designers and allowing them to have a career in the fashion industry.

Bottega Veneta Names Jacob Elordi as Brand Ambassador

Everyone’s favorite 6 ‘5 Australian, Jacob Elordi, has just been announced as Bottega Veneta’s latest Brand Ambassador, joining the likes of RM from BTS and Chinese actress Shu Qi. Clad in a cozy salmon-colored knit sweater with his hands up in bunny ears, the actor is a natural fit for the luxury brand given his penchant for carrying their bags. It’ll be exciting to see what the house has lined up with Elordi over the next few months.

Zegna’s Latest Campaign Stars Mads Mikkelsen

While we’re on the topic of actor-fronted campaigns, Zegna just released its spring summer 2024 ads starring their global ambassador Mads Mikkelsen. The actor wanders a sun-drenched idyllic locale wearing the brand’s Alba overshirt and new Orizzonte II sunglasses. The pieces are from the Oasi Lino collection which features airy silhouettes and a light color palette inspired by the world around us. Made with 100% traceable flax fibers which were sourced in France and processed in Italy, the fabrics represent the brand’s commitment to sustainability.  As a part of this initiative, they’ve also planted a half a million trees and counting.

Burberry’s Rocking Horse Gets a Star-Studded Co-Sign

Since Daniel Lee’s debut at Burberry over a year ago, the Rocking Horse bag has become mainstay among its accessory offerings. With its curved shape and rein-inspired straps, it’s both reminiscent of the classic childhood toy and a nod to the brand’s longstanding ties to the equestrian. In celebration of the style, the brand released a new campaign featuring their brand ambassadors like Bright, Jun Ji-Hyun and Tang Wei. Also in the mix are actress Asami Mizukawa as well as models Lily Donaldson and Nora Attal. Dressed simply in a mix of trench coats and sweaters, the Rocking Horse is front-and-center, showcasing its versatility, no matter the outfit.

Loewe Gives a Behind-the-Scenes Look at The Making of Their Raffia Bags

Is it really summer if you don’t see someone wearing a Loewe raffia tote? The warm weather favorite, while being extremely vacation-friendly, also happens to be one of the best examples of the brand’s devotion to handicraft. Nowhere is that more evident than in these images, that highlight the process behind the newest styles seen in the 2024 Paula’s Ibiza collection. Made in three locations across Colombia, Madagascar, and Morocco, the photos offer a glimpse at the tools of the craft, the intricate weaving required for the finished product, as well as the locations where they’re made.

Diesel Reopens in Shibuya

Retail in Japan is on another level. It’s not enough to simply sell clothes, it’s an experience and nowhere is that more evident than in Diesel’s newly reopened space in Shibuya. Equal parts boutique, art gallery, restaurant, and vintage shop, it’ll sure be a big hit with all the stylish shoppers making their way around Tokyo’s most popular neighborhood. Creative Director Glenn Martens envisioned the new look, which has billboards celebrating the brand’s vintage ads including those that ran across America’s highways. To play up that on-the-road vibe, the walls are covered in riveted raw steel panels while the walls and floors have resin posters. In the basement there’s an Upcycle Lab that has second-hand clothes and deadstock from the brand — a surefire hit in a city known for immaculate thrifting. Should you get hungry, head up to Cucina Diesel Farm, founder Renzo Rosso’s restaurant that was originally located in the hills of Marostica, which will offer Veneto regional cuisine as well as wines produced at Diesel Farm. To round out the space, there’s also an art gallery which will highlight up-and-coming artists.
