The minimal chic styles hit stores this week.
How do you celebrate turning 50? Well, if you’re Victoria Beckham you throw a massive party, complete with Spice Girls reunion, and then jaunt off to Spain to celebrate your first collaboration with Mango. Beckham described this collection in three words: sensual, considered, and feminine, which all ring true. She turned to Jacques Deray’s legendary film La Piscine starring Jane Birkin as a main source of inspiration. Combining her chic minimalist energy as seen in her namesake line, she also added in some playful, unexpected moments. How that translates is a series of sleek dresses, elegant knits, and sharp tailoring. For Beckham, her personal favorites include the all-white suiting as well as slinky pastel hued slip dresses, styled with classic trench coats. “I have always played with both the feminine and masculine. It’s always about the silhouette for me,” she says.
In honor of the capsule collection Toni Ruez, CEO of Mango and Victoria Beckham threw a celeb-filled party in Costa Brava at the gorgeous beach front property, Casa Cruylles, as a nod to La Piscine. With the likes of Emily Ratajkowski and Alexa Chung kitted out in pieces, Beckham stresses how she “wanted to help women feel like the best version of themselves because when you feel like the best version of yourself can take on anything!”
The night began with curated cocktails and Spanish tapas as the guests explored the beautiful estate. Soon we were ushered into the dinner space which inspired gasps as the room featured candlelit geometrically tiled tables. To top off the evening, a dance party was in order as everyone from influencer Tamu McPhearson to English fashion editor Julia Hobbs found themselves on the dancefloor — surely a night to remember.
