Plus inside the Solid Gold exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum and more holiday campaigns.
Thanksgiving is still two weeks away but somehow the party season is in full swing. Case in point: Louis Vuitton’s big bash to celebrate their new temporary boutique last night. Also last night? The Brooklyn Museum along with Dior held an evening to fete their latest exhibit Solid Gold, an ode to the metal’s influence across fashion and art through the millenia. And perhaps that’s fitting because it seems like the holidays are top of mind as more brands unveil their seasonal campaigns. From Loewe’s second outing with Kyoto-based ceramists Suna Fujita to Burberry’s quintessential British campaign starring David Tennant along with a slew of real families to Miu Miu’s merry upcycled collection, it’s never been easier to get into the festive spirit.

The Brooklyn Museum Turns Golden
The Olympics may be a distant memory but the power and prestige of gold is eternal. And nowhere is that more evident in The Brooklyn Museum’s new exhibit Solid Gold. In honor of the museums’ 200th anniversary, you’ll find over 400 objects that span fashion, jewelry as well as paintings, sculptures, and film. Highlighting the metal’s role as a symbol of beauty, honor, success, and wealth across the millennia you’ll find everything from an Egyptian headdress to medieval era Italian altar pieces to Japanese screens to a Jean Michel Basquiat painting. Of course, fashion plays a huge role, as Dior is one of the sponsors. From couture pieces by the likes of John Galliano and Maria Grazia Chiuri to works by Marc Bohan woven through the rooms, you’ll get a chance to see these garments up close. And it’s not just limited to Dior, with designs by the likes of Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, and Halston among the curation. Want to see for yourself? It’ll be on view from November 16 through July 6, 2025.
Louis Vuitton Goes to the Dogs
Arguably anything is made better with the addition of a cute dog or two. That’s especially the case for Louis Vuitton’s latest short film and accompanying campaign, which takes place at a fictional dog show. As the stylish pups take the stage, with some clad in branded harnesses, their handlers wear styles from the spring-summer 2025 men’s pre-collection. Inspired by the concepts of heritage and regency you’ll see letterman jackets, embroidered crests on sweaters as well as preppy tailoring. From poodles to dachshunds to French bulldogs, the contestants parade and jump, making it especially difficult to choose a winner. Who gets the best-in-show prize? We’ll never know — the movie cuts out just before the big moment. But if it were up to us, the goodest boys and girls would be all of them.
Saint Laurent Launches the Y Bag
With the bag pendulum swinging back to larger and more practical styles, gone are the days when all you could fit was a credit card and a lipstick into a purse. The latest chic tote to enter the fray? Saint Lauren’s Y bag. Inspired by the house’s instantly recognizable initials, the slouchy leather carryall is the ideal daytime companion with ample room for your laptop, water bottle, and any other odds and ends. Rendered in soft calfskin it comes in classic black as well as brick. Given that we’re about to head into a busy travel season, consider your carry-on needs sorted. Shop it here.
A Whimsical Holiday Sequel
Loewe is taking us back to our childhoods with their holiday 2024 collection, filled with vibrant colors and whimsical details that blend fantasy and festivity. Creative Director Jonathan Anderson has renewed the brand’s collaboration with Kyoto-based ceramists Suna Fujita, bringing playful creatures like whales, octopuses, and bunnies to life on the brand’s signature bags including the Flamenco, Puzzle, and Hammock. The collection also features luxurious outerwear, metallic Petal Bow shoes, and silver nappa designs that balance coziness with sensuality. Launching November 14, the collection is brought to life with festive windows, a mechanical puppet film, and seasonal pop-ups in locations worldwide.
Miu Miu’s Merry Upcycled Collection
What’s better than a one-of-a-kind, wholly sustainable and festive Miu Miu garmet? This Christmas season, Miu Miu unveils the fifth edition of its annual Upcycled collection, offering revamped leather, kilts and yarns from previous runways in a bedazzled Christmas capsule. Sourced from the ’50s and ’70s, kilts are served with trompe l’oeil effects and sit on the hip, pairing themselves with upcycled leather biker jackets from the brand’s fall 2022 collection and embroidered motifs inspired by its spring 2011 show. In an effort to champion circular design, the Italian label celebrates the festivities by joining forces with the non-profit collective Aura Blockchain Consortium which promotes transparency in the luxury industry. Sported by Miu Miu muse Emma Corrin in the accompanying campaign shot by Lengua, the collection is available now in selected Miu Miu stores as well as online. Shop here.
Carolina Herrera and Frame Collaborate on Denim
After heading down to Rio de Janeiro last year, Wes Gordon and Carolina Herrera decided Mexico City would be the location for their see-now buy-now resort 2025 collection. As always the beautiful dresses were fit for major red carpet moments but Gordon also had a surprise in store for his fans — denim. The designs were the result of the friendship between Gordon and Frame co-founder Erik Torstensson. The two got to thinking with the main question being, what would the Herrera client wear when she wasn’t in a gown? The result was a tailored take on denim with styles like the Taper Jeans as well as a slick jacket. Naturally there’s also a ball skirt plus both a midi and mini options. In colors like Herrera red, marigold, and white, they’re elegant and exactly what a society doyenne needs for her off-duty wardrobe. You can shop the collection here.
A Quintessentially British Holiday
Burberry’s Wrapped in Burberry campaign is doing the holiday season in style, celebrating love, laughter, and cozy moments with family and friends. Shot on the streets of London’s Bloomsbury, the campaign features Rivals stars David Tennant and Alex Hassell alongside real-life families, including Herschel and Lilly Stoller, and artist Slawn with his partner and children. The festive collection features timeless tailoring, Burberry Check scarves, and cozy outerwear that celebrates togetherness and warmth. Adding a modern twist, Burberry is introducing an innovative virtual scarf try-on experience, letting customers explore and style their perfect scarf from the comfort of their home or on the go.
Michael Kors Very New York Party
There’s no better place to be than in New York City during the holidays and for Michael Kors, that’s evident in their festive campaign. It’s Lit is a star-studded film directed by Bardia Zeinali that features the likes of Delilah Belle, Amelia Gray Hamlin, Patricia Field, and Alton Mason, to name a few and celebrates the glitz and buzz of the season with sequined t-shirts, glittering metallics, and ruby-red Tribeca bags. Set to a custom rendition of Jingle Bells by Alex Chapman, the campaign captures the spirit of the holidays with glamorous outerwear, thigh-high boots, and party-ready accessories.
Chanel’s South of France Escape
For Virginie Viard’s final collection at the helm of Chanel the brand headed down to Marselle for their resort 2025 collection and now the first images are out. Shot by Jamie Hakesworth, the images show model Loli Bahia frolicking around the South of France, bringing the clothes to life near the Mediterranean. She roams around the coast clad in classic styles albeit with a sporty influence. You’ll see shorts made of leather and denim bermudas have long braids similar to tracksuits. To accompany chic flats with some rendered in tuxedo and scuba-style materials. In a nod to Gabrielle Chanel herself, Bahia also wears boater hats. For bag fans, the 11.12 is the one to know, now available in pastel colors.
Delvaux Brings Back a Classic Favorite
Few women embody old Hollywood elegance better than Elizabeth Taylor. One brand you might not know associated with her lore is Delvaux. The story goes like this: in 1958 Taylor is in Brussels and falls in love with the country. When she returns to Los Angeles, she finds a bag in the window of a boutique that catches her eye. The design? A style by Belgian-based Delvaux called Le Caprice. With its trapezoidal shape and elegantly curved brass handle, it’s equal parts jewel and handbag. And so she purchases and uses it, with the purse eventually winding up in Christie’s catalog of her most prized possessions. The brand rediscovered the connection and now, has brought it back so that others can come to love Le Caprice as much as she does. Available in the same green shade that caught her eye, you’ll also find it in classic shades like black, white, red, and more.
