A GENEROUS LEGACY
For the Vivienne Westwood fall/winter 2025 collec- tion—shown in a neoclassical palais in Paris’s 1st arron- dissement—the label’s creative director, Andreas Kronthaler, worked with the casting director Liz Gold- son to put together a typically mesmerizing lineup. There was Yasmin Wijnaldum opening the show in a punky three-piece skirt suit and Tyrolean-inspired hat; Alton Mason cocooned in a high-collared jacket and over- the-knee boots; and Jessica Miller in an oversized coat, masculine tailoring, and a sky-high chapeau. Newer faces brought Kronthaler’s commentary on the tradi- tional codes of British fashion to life too, each in their own way: Ellen Borges in a blazer emblazoned with the word “CHAOS,” Zoe Zimsek in a ripped corseted dress, and Nayonikaa Shetty in a relaxed bustier gown acces- sorized with pearls. Though Westwood herself is no lon- ger with us, the show proved that her defiant spirit is alive and well. All hail the queen.
