The new health-hacking meccas are doing a lot more than checking your vitals.

From the Gilded Age spa towns of central Europe to the modern-day full-body reset retreats like Lanserhof in Austria and Germany and SHA in Spain and Mexico, a commitment to immersive wellness has historically required travel—and a break from your routine. Not anymore.

As the pendulum swings away from reactive medicine and towards preventative health—at least for those who can afford it—we have entered a new era. You can now indulge in high-level bespoke biohacking without boarding a plane, with new programs promising to make it easier to integrate longevity practices into your day-to- day life.

Remedy Place, a wellness club with locations in New York, Los Angeles, and Boston, recently launched its Meridian program, which offers personalized health assessments based on the analysis of 600 biomarkers. Encompassing V02 Max testing, resting metabolic rate testing, mapping of body composition and agility, and comprehensive blood work, Meridian provides a detailed snapshot of your current fitness status. The data is then used to develop supplements that are calibrated to your deficiencies and needs, and to build an exercise and diet regimen to align with your goals.

Meridian is available to non-members (consults start at $300)—and guests are welcome to book Remedies, such as vitamin IVs, cryotherapy, hyperbaric- chamber sessions, and infrared saunas on an à la carte basis.

For a super-elite experience, there’s Biograph, which recently opened in Manhattan (its first location catered to the Silicon Valley set in San Francisco). The vast clinic—which was designed by OOM Architecture’s Lucinda Tay, whose previous work includes Apple environments—is a haven of indoor gardens and sanctuary-like diagnostic spaces: You are assigned a private suite in which to rest and shower between assessments, while visits are orchestrated so that guests never see one another.

Co-founded by Peter Attia, MD, author of the biohacker bible Outlive: The Science & Art of Longevity, the Biograph program is centered on five pillars: cardiovascular health, metabolic wellness, neurological plasticity, cancer prevention, and quality of life. Assessments at the first tier (Core, $7,500) include VO2 Max testing, a DEXA scan (to measure bone density and muscle distribution), a full-body MRI, hearing and vision tests, and genetic screening for hereditary diseases; with the second tier (Black, $15,000) you also get continuous glucose monitoring, CT coronary scans, and sleep apnea testing. Truly, nothing is overlooked.

Those who travel incessantly may prefer the services rendered by Danford Works. This wellness company, which began as a concierge physical therapy practice, offers six curated assessments according to preference (the protocol always starts with a DEXA scan) that can be performed in a number of locations, depending on the client’s availability. Once your goals are defined, a team of MDs, physical therapists, dietitians, and wellness coaches step in to curate a personalized longevity program. Danford Works offers in-home services as well as virtual consults, so there’s no excuse for slacking.

The aim, as with all of these programs, is to increase health span—with an eye to increasing both the years in your life and the life in your years. Isn’t that worth every penny?
