SHOWstudio Celebrates 25 Years with New Nick Knight Film

The fashion platform marks the milestone with a Ray-Ban Meta collaboration featuring Naomi Campbell, Anok Yai, and Mona Tougaard.

Nick Knight’s SHOWstudio is celebrating 25 years of redefining fashion imagery with the release of a new film that pushes the boundaries of visual creation. The project, titled SHOWstudio: NATURALLY, Made With Ray-Ban, was shot using Ray-Ban Meta glasses and Gaussian Scanning techniques, and features Naomi Campbell, Xiao Wen Ju, Anok Yai, Susie Cave, and Mona Tougaard across three narrative arcs titled Mind, Body, and Soul.

SHOWstudio: NATURALLY, Made With Ray-Ban by Nick Knight

Founded in 2000 to explore the creative process behind fashion visuals, SHOWstudio pioneered the medium of fashion film and introduced groundbreaking innovations including the first livestreamed runway show—Alexander McQueen’s Plato’s Atlantis in 2009—and experimental projects like Sleep in 2001, where nine models were filmed sleeping under a webcam.

“I feel deeply grateful to call [SHOWStudio] my second home,” says Daphne Guinness, a longtime collaborator. “The projects I have made there are more than a few strands in my artistic tapestry; they are woven into the very fabric of who I am.”

For the anniversary film, Knight wore Ray-Ban Meta glasses to capture three-dimensional images, walking around models in studio and through landscapes to create impressionistic scenes he could manipulate from any angle. The film opens with Xiao Wen Ju wearing Iris Van Herpen in the mountains, moves to a lush Welsh forest featuring archive Christian Dior by John Galliano worn by Anok Yai, and culminates in a surreal ball scene with Mona Tougaard in Viktor & Rolf and Naomi Campbell in Miss Sohee. Poet Otamere Guobadia was commissioned by Knight to author and narrate a poem in response to the film visuals.

“SHOWstudio and Nick Knight keep pushing fashion’s image-making forward. They treat visuals like experimentation, not decoration. In a moment when everything feels disposable, they remind the industry that storytelling and innovation matter,” says Diesel and Y/Project Creative Director Glenn Martens.

The film marks the beginning of a year-long celebration, with SHOWstudio also releasing a limited-edition box set featuring works from Lady Gaga, John Galliano, Virgil Abloh, and Kate Moss.
