For his first Métiers d’art collection, Chanel’s artistic director Matthieu Blazy brought the house to New York City, staging the show in an abandoned downtown subway station. Models emerged from train cars and walked the platform in a mix of eras and characters—from Sixties beehive hairdos to Eighties power suiting, with plenty of animal prints nodding to Gabrielle Chanel’s own wardrobe. Striking tweeds, feathered gowns, shimmering ombré dresses, and everyday pieces like jeans and trench coats captured the energy of a city where everyone has somewhere to go. A cinematic love letter to craft and to New York.
