MIU MIU READY-TO-WEAR FW26

At the final show of fashion month, Miuccia Prada presented protective clothing for uncertain times.

On the last day of Paris Fashion Week, Miuccia Prada brought us back down to earth. The Palais d’Iéna was filled with dirt and grass, creating what felt like a wild forest within the grand space. It was a deliberate contrast between smallness and vastness that would inform the entire Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2026 collection.

“The smallness of our human bodies, in the vastness of our world,” read the show notes. “An ownership and agency of your own body, your own self and value.” After the show, Mrs. Prada expanded on this idea: “You, as a human person, you are enough. You don’t need anything, because you have yourself. You have your mind. That should be enough against whatever happens.” Her exploration of scale manifested in clothes that felt protective yet minimal, lived-in yet considered.

The collection leaned into garments with a worn-in feel that gave an intimate, second-skin quality. Slim tailored coats with high belts and cropped sleeves—some fabrics worn down to a sheen—were paired with matching flared trousers that dragged through the dirt. Leather coats and jackets were trimmed with tactile embellishment that seemed to grow from the fabric, or they came shrunken and crinkled.

There was also the ’90s inspired office wear Miu Miu has become known for, shearling-trimmed windbreakers and puffers, and gauzy tops and dresses. Fabrics were simple: cotton poplin, washed double cashmere, linen, embroidered tulle. Mini tank dresses had sweet bow details that referenced underwear—”the clothes that are closest to you.”

While the clothing spoke to simplicity and protection, the accessories told a different story. Embellished fur-lined trapper hats, crystal-studded belts, Y2K claw headbands, bedazzled footwear, and rhinestone-studded details injected some look-at-me energy.

A multi-generational cast including Gillian Anderson, Chloë Sevigny, Kristen McMenamy, and Gemma Ward walked alongside Diana Silvers and Lily Newmark. Each moved through the forest setting, embodying what the show notes described as “acknowledging your own delicacy, each is still given authority, walking alone.”
