The Indonesian pop star goes edgy glam.
You may not be familiar with the name Agnez Mo but prepare to be. The Indonesian pop star is massive in Asia, to the tune of 31 million followers on Instagram alone. With a style that she says is influenced by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Britney Spears, and Aaliyah, Mo’s infectious, upbeat music has been a critical and commercial success abroad. Add to that the fact that she’s also an actress (she starred in Amazon’s Reacher most recently) and dancer and you have yourself a triple threat. We tagged along as she got ready for the 2026 Gold Gala, wearing an edgy look that mixed Egyptian designer Salma Osman with the likes ot TTSWTRS and accessories by Saint Laurent.
“Tonight’s look, it’s all about representation, strength, elegant with a little bit of sculpture.”

“I don’t really have getting ready rituals per se. You don’t really need one if you already choose the right people, who have positive vibes, to be around you. When it comes to music, I’m actually very blessed to have a boyfriend who always sets the mood for me. He always knows what I’m about. So it’s old school R&B or Afrobeats — just something to lighten the mood.”
For her glam, Mo along with her team wanted to remain true to her personal style. They opted for hair clips to give her look some edge while the makeup enhanced her natural features.
“This is my fourth time attending Gold Gala. It always means a lot to see Asians and Asian Americans being celebrated in fashion, art, culture, entertainment, and business. It’s so refreshing and we’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time.”
