In L.A., Tory Burch Kicked Off Summer With A Pool Party

Piña coladas, pool floats, and pink jelly sandals set the scene for a breezy afternoon in Beverly Hills.

Summer Fridays in Los Angeles are practically a sport. By the first weekend of June, the city’s creative crowd has collectively agreed to move every social obligation outdoors, trading dinner reservations for pool decks and rooftop cocktails. Tory Burch tapped directly into that seasonal mood, hosting Summer Splash, a sun-soaked celebration of its latest warm-weather capsule at a mid-century estate perched high above Beverly Hills.

The collection leans fully into nostalgia with the Splash Jelly Drop, in which the New York label reimagines its classic house silhouettes as translucent, candy-colored, resortwear. At the center of this Y2K throwback is the limited edition Miller Jelly, a whimsical take on Tory Burch’s bestselling sandal that feels pulled straight from a beach catalog from the late-90’s. Equal parts nostalgia-inducing and statement-making, the capsule embraces the kind of carefree glamour that practically begs for a poolside cocktail party.

Guests entered through an expansive courtyard before making their way into the architectural showpiece, where floor-to-ceiling windows framed the sprawling lawn. Outside, pina coladas flowed freely alongside trays of steak tacos, while oversized inflatables transformed the backyard into a temporary resort. Everywhere you looked, there was another postcard-worthy corner overlooking sweeping views of the city. Cameras flashed as jelly sandals flip-flopped across the sparkling pool’s deck.

Internet favorites including Salem Mitchell, Emma Brooks, Zoi Lerma, Toni Bravo, Meeka Hossain, Soukeyna Diouf, and Cierra Nia drifted between the clubhouse rill and the lawn. The dress code was impossible to miss: crochet sets, flowing white dresses, mirror-embellished looks that caught the afternoon sun, and enough shimmering fabrics to evoke a modern-day mermaid soiree. The overall effect felt less like a launch event and more like a particularly chic California daydream.

Then came the moment that shifted the energy.

As conversations slowed and guests gathered around the water’s edge, a team of synchronized swimmers emerged from the pool for a surprise performance. Framed by city views and floating inflatables, the swimmers transformed the backyard into an unexpected stage. Phones appeared instantly. Applause followed. For a few minutes, the entire party revolved around the pool.

Meanwhile, Zuri Marley kept the soundtrack breezy and upbeat from the DJ booth, providing the perfect backdrop for everything from casual chatting to competitive rounds at the beer bong table. What began as a relaxed afternoon gathering evolved into a genuine party, the kind hosts spend months attempting to engineer and rarely achieve. Even a brief interruption in the music couldn’t derail the mood. By then, Summer Splash had already accomplished its mission: turning a product launch into the unofficial kickoff of summer.
