Nicole Kidman, Zendaya, and Keri Russell were among our favorite looks of the evening
This year’s Emmys saw multiple shows with double-digit nominations. The Pitt led with 25, Hacks with 24, and Widows Bay with 19. Those driving the fashion momentum at the Peacock Theater included Nicole Kidman in a white-feathered Chanel dress and everyone’s favorite style chameleon Zendaya in a bejeweled custom Prada gown and Mikimoto pearls (she also sported a brand-new pixie cut). This was Zendaya’s sixth Emmy nomination (for Outstanding Lead Actress for her role as Rue in Euphoria), and she looked as poised as ever on the blue carpet. Not surprisingly, the cast who collectively turned it out were the stars of Love Story. Sarah Pidgeon wore a CBK-esque lavender Chanel dress, Grace Gummer chose a black strapless Dior number, and Paul Anthony Kelly looked dapper in a Louis Vuitton tux. The chicest couple award went to Matthew Rhys (in Thom Browne) and Keri Russell (in Khaite’s first-ever red carpet look, a black leather halter dress with an open back). Zendaya wasn’t the only celeb who opted for Prada—Marcello Hernandez and Adam Brody both wore the revered Italian label. While it was hard to choose just 10, here are our favorite looks of the night.
1. NICOLE KIDMAN IN CHANEL
Nominated as an executive producer of the hit show Margo’s Got Money Troubles, Kidman returned to the Emmys for the first time in seven years in a white feathered strapless dress by Chanel.
2. ZENDAYA IN CUSTOM PRADA AND MIKIMOTO JEWELRY
The star dazzled in a custom silver plunging Prada gown, paired with Mikimoto jewelry.
3. ADAM BRODY IN PRADA & OMEGA
Everyone’s favorite hot Rabbi went with a classic Prada suit, a pale blue shirt, and a chic tie. He tied the look together with an Omega watch.
4. COLMAN DOMINGO IN CUSTOM VALENTINO AND OMEGA
The actor made our best-dressed list once again in a tan jacket with a pink sash, white silk pants, and an Omega watch.
5. SELENA GOMEZ IN LOUIS VUITTON AND TIFFANY & CO. JEWELRY
The actress and singer looked like the Emmy trophy herself in a gold strapless Louis Vuitton gown, paired with Tiffany & Co. jewelry.
6. CAREY MULLIGAN IN THE ROW
The Row is usually a more minimalist affair, so we were excited to see The Beef star in the brand’s gorgeous blue strapless column with a white floral motif.
7. GRACE GUMMER IN CHRISTIAN DIOR
Known for her role as Caroline Kennedy in Love Story, Gummer walked the carpet in a gorgeous black strapless Christian Dior dress with studs down the side.
8. KERRI RUSSEL IN KHAITE
The actress ditched her character’s diplomatic garb for a chic upgrade: a high-neck leather halter dress by Khaite, custom-made by designer Cate Holstein.
9. PAUL ANTHONY KELLY IN LOUIS VUITTON AND VACHERON CONSTANTIN WATCH
The actor made his Emmys debut in a Louis Vuitton suit, giving off a very James Dean vibe. The Vacheron Constantin watch was a chic touch.
10. SARAH PIDGEON IN CHANEL
The actress channeled her famous character in a 90s-esque slinky lilac Chanel dress with bejeweled pearl straps and bodice detail.
