EIGHT FLOORS OF FASHION, ART, AND HOSPITALITY TRANSFORM THE BRAND’S ORIGINAL HOME INTO ITS MORE IMPRESSIVE DESTINATION YET.
Just in time for their spring 2027 show (happening today!) Prada is opening the doors to Prada Galleria. Located inside the historic Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the renovated complex unfolds across eight floors, bringing together the brand’s many creative worlds under one very ornate roof. Since 1913 the space has been home, when Mario and Martino Prada opened the original Fratelli Prada store beneath its glass-vaulted ceilings. More than a century later, it’s now a destination connecting its past, present, and seemingly limitless future — a true homecoming, only much bigger and more glamorous.
The renewed Prada Donna boutique, sitting on the original Fratelli Prada site, nearly doubles its display space through an expanded subterranean level, marrying the women’s collections with travel, home, and beauty offerings. Across the Galleria, Prada Uomo is connected to it by the new Passaggio Segreto, an underground passage spotlighting lesser-known episodes from the brand’s history, from its earliest experiments to unexpected firsts. Above the store, the iconic Marchesi 1824 invites visitors and locals to pause for a sweet treat and the quintessence of Milanese cafe culture.Upstairs, atop Marchesi 1824, the crown jewel, Pradasphere, is the house’s first permanent exhibition. It traces years of creativity from the 1913 founding of Fratelli Prada to today, assembling archival artifacts and decades of engagement across fashion, art, architecture, cinema, culture, and sport — many on view for the very first time.
Continuing to the second floor — yes, we are somehow still inside in the same building — the Studio offers a series of intimate, salon-style rooms for appointment-only shopping, alongside a central hall designed for private events. Next, the invitation-only Appartamento imagines an 18th-century Italian home, pairing antique furniture with an exhibition curated by renowned photographic artist Andreas Gursky. With views over the Galleria’s monumental mosaics, the space is reserved for special occasions and almost certainly about to host some of the season’s most enviable invitations. One can only imagine the dinners, parties and chic gatherings it will see in the coming weeks. Oh, if only walls could talk.

Finally, at the uppermost level sits Osservatorio Fondazione Prada, dedicated to visual experimentation and the meeting point of technology, contemporary culture, and image-making. Combined with Fondazione’s larger Milan campus, Prada’s presence across Italy’s fashion capital is undeniable. They truly are taking over.
From the murals of Prada Donna to the hush of the Appartamento, Prada Galleria does more than retrace the house’s history; it makes the case that history was never really behind it to begin with. Eight floors, one spectacular address, more than a century of firsts, and still somehow only the beginning. So what could possibly remain on Prada’s conquest list? At this rate, nothing can be ruled out.
