At Rochas, a changing of the guard. Alessandro Vigilante has been appointed the house’s new creative director following the departure of Charles De Vilmorin, who exited the label in April.
Vigilante already has a beefy CV. The Italian designer has worked for the likes of Dolce and Gabbana, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini and Gucci under Alessandro Michele. Since 2021, he has also been designing a collection under his own name, which is stoked at the likes of Farfetch and Luisaviaroma.
He joined Rochas back in May, working with the studio team to help craft the French house’s SS24 collection. He will unveil his first full collection during Paris Fashion Week in February. Speaking to WWD, the designer says he plans to also release a new scent as part of the brand’s expansive perfume collection, set to debut in 2025.
“I am honored and grateful to be joining the maison Rochas and for the opportunity to build on the rich and profound heritage of the house,” says Vigilante. “Rochas represents a dedication to French sophistication and a celebration of womanhood that I find incredibly inspiring. I am looking forward to conveying my vision.”
