The South Korean singer of the girl group IVE can’t help but captivate your attention.
With almost eight million Instagram followers, An Yujin is a force to be reckoned with. The singer, 21, began her career nearly seven years ago as a contestant on Produce 48, a reality show where 96 competitors vie for 12 spots in a yet-to-be-formed band. After placing fifth, Yujin became a member of Iz*One for two years before the group disbanded in April 2021. She didn’t sit around waiting for her next gig. By November of that year, Starship Entertainment had announced their newest girl group, IVE, with Yujin as their leader. Their first record, Eleven, was a smash success, debuting at number one on the Gaon Album Chart and becoming certified double platinum by the Korean Music Content Association.

Since then, IVE has dropped hit after hit. Spend time on TikTok, and you’ll likely hear one of their bops, like Baddie, Kitsch, or Heya. They’ve won multiple awards in Japan and Korea and their frequency is getting louder. Last summer, they performed a 45-minute set at Lollapalooza that introduced them to a global audience. “Being in Chicago was inspirational, especially among so many international artists,” says Yujin, who was praised for her ability to hype up the crowd.
That love and devotion from fans new and old, has led to opportunities outside music for Yujin, including modeling gigs for fashion and beauty brands such as Fendi and Clio Cosmetics. As you can see here, the singer’s high-fashion prowess means she can genuinely wear anything. Whether she’s doing backbends in Balenciaga or climbing scaffolding in Chanel, there’s nothing this young, worldly hotshot can’t do.
