Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, and Prada were among the festival’s best looks.
The 78th Cannes Film Festival was back again for another year as the world’s biggest celebs wore their very best to promote their new films and compete for the longest standing ovation. As usual, awards were handed out with the top prize going to Jafar Panahi’s It Was Just an Accident, while the likes of Robert De Niro and Denzel Washington were given Honorary Palme d’Or honors. New this year, however, were new red carpet dressing rules. Nudity was banned, leaving some to play with fire as they walked the carpet in looks that barely passed the new guidelines. Case in point: Bella Hadid in a black Saint Laurent dress slit up the thigh that covered just enough. Also new in 2025: no excessive trains or voluminous gowns, which the likes of Heidi Klum and Chinese actress Wan QianHui chose to ignore. Regardless, there were still some interesting and unforgettable looks from the 12-day affair. The hot men of Hollywood did not disappoint as they went sleeveless or donned thigh-high boots, while the women overwhelmingly chose white or sparkles.

The Bridgerton star wore a white Vivienne Westwood dress from the house’s show in Mumbai for the screening of The Mastermind. With its cinched bodice and tea-length silhouette, it showed that you don’t need a big gown to make an impact.

The Swedish actor is leaning into method dressing while promoting his new film Pillion, in which he plays a biker in a queer bike gang. He walked the Cannes red carpet in a simple black tux with thigh-high leather boots.

The young star certainly made a Cannes debut (and set the internet ablaze) with her custom green emerald dress from Louis Vuitton.

Nudity rules? Johnson successfully skirted that mandate with a silver sparkly dress that offered just enough sheerness to keep it interesting.
