You’ll find playful bags, one-of-a-kind pieces by artists, and in-store events all summer long.
Back in April Coach launched Coachtopia, a sub-brand that catered to a new generation of customers who wanted pieces that had an emphasis on circularity and sustainability. The line of handbags, jewelry, and clothes feature a mixture of upcycled leather and resin as well as responsibly sourced cotton and other materials. Playful and colorful, the new line represents a way for Coach to engage with fans, especially since they selected a select few as well as influencers and artists to form the Coachtopia beta community, a group that weighs in designs and activations. This week, they’re taking the conversation further by transforming the first floor of their SoHo boutique into a temporary summer pop-up for the sub-brand.
Running until August 12th, the Coachtopia pop-up has the same fun aesthetic and commitment to upcycling. You’ll find Coach scrap leather reimagined into custom patchwork seating while the signs also use materials that would have otherwise been discarded. The brand tapped artists and collaborators like Skilset and Nicole McLaughlin to create one-of-a-kind pieces and the space will also feature workshops and other events during its run.
Fans of Coachtopia will find its latest drop prominently featured in the store. Notable handbags include the new micro sized version of the Ergo, a fan favorite hobo, as well as the CloudLoop tote, both made with recycled leather and polyester. Also in the new collection is the introduction of Upcrushed Upcrafted leather, created with leftover scraps using methods that create distinctive colors and patterns that are unique to each piece. And because the brand believes in working with their Coachtopia beta community, designer Tyler McGillivary, who is a member, created an applique jacket and dress. Given how fast styles sold out during the first Coachtopia drop, it’s safe to assume this pop-up will be equally as popular this summer so check it out before everything’s gone.
