Minimalist pieces that are sure to sell out over the next few months.
Last spring COS took a trip to Rome but it’s back to New York City for their fall 2024 runway presentation. Staged at Brooklyn’s Agger FIsh, the industrial location served as the perfect backdrop for their see-now buy-now collection. As always, the front row was filled with famous faces, including Colman Domingo who stars in the campaign as well as Emily Ratajkowski, Chloe Sevigny, Issa Rae, and more. Inside, the setup drew inspiration from the manufacturing history of the area, with a metal maze taking center stage. Also to note: the entire space was designed to be as sustainable as possible with rented features or components that can be donated or recycled. Even the carpets will find a second life, as they’re donated to the Materials for the Arts, a creative reuse center.
Being that it’s a fall collection, knits and outerwear dominated the looks. The color palette takes a cue from nature, with earthy hues in shades of green, gray, black, and brown. Standouts include a faux fur coat as well as a leather bomber and classic, long woolen designs that are sure to be favorites among the minimalists. Tailoring, always a key detail for all COS collections, was a strong suit, as slouchy blazers and trousers offered up modern silhouettes for the working woman. And given the recent wild successes of their accessories, the offering was equally as strong with leather loafers, ballet flats, and quilted clutch bags sure to be big hits among fans of the brand.
Mixed into the looks were pieces from COS ATELIER, an elevated capsule collection within the collection. This year, Karin Gustafsson, the creative director, drew from ballet and movement, resulting in fluid and sculptural shapes. With transparent elements and elegant evening-ready pieces like a long silky gown with bows, consider it the answer to many holiday dressing conundrums.
For those who want to shop, a selection is already up online as well as in stores with limited drops scheduled throughout the season. As for the COS ATELIER pieces, expect them in October.
