Fendi’s New Summer Capsule is for Astrology Fans

If you’re the type to know which planets are in retrograde and what it means when the moon is eclipsed, then you’re going to want this Fendi capsule. The brand released a sexy swim and beachwear collection featuring all of the signs. Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear, has used this collection to not only draw upon the brand’s most recent show but also took inspiration from Karl Lagerfeld’s sketches from 1990 and 1993. 

With the most recent Met Ball celebrating Karl Lagerfeld’s influence on fashion history, it’s only fitting for Fendi to celebrate their legacy as well, using Lagerfeld’s original astrological print drawings for this collection. You’ll see those sketches mixed in with lettering denoting each sign in both English and Italian, all interpreted via a retro sporty silhouettes as seen during the brands 1993 runway show. Whether you’re a sultry Scorpio’s who gravitate towards the body-skimming viscoses or a more down to earth Virgos opting for crochet dresses, there’s something for you. 

Shot by photographer Steven Miesel, the ads feature Irina Shayk splashing into the summer alongside some of Fendi’s array of beachy accessories from the popular Baguette Bag or the new Sunshine Shopper. So even if Venus is in retrograde or not, this capsule is guaranteed to be a stylish way to kick start our summer.
