10 Things You Might Have Missed This Week: The Great Escape

Gucci goes to Monte Carlo (again), Burberry heads to the countryside, and more.

As you’re reading this you’ve probably already kicked off the long weekend. Coincidentally, making the great escape is the overarching theme this week as Gucci released their second Monte Carlo campaign, featuring coastal getaways and sultry evenings that star the likes of Amelia Gray and Anok Yai. Meanwhile Burberry has their own jaunt planned, naturally to the countryside, for their latest ads. Starring Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow’s son Moses Martin, it also includes a song from Moses’ band. Meanwhile, should you be in New York, Miami, Costa Mesa, Aspen, or Sicily, there’s everything from dance performances to art exhibits to new shops and even a fancy spa to check out courtesy of the likes of Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co. Valentino, and Dior Beauty respectively.

Read on to learn more and catch up on what else you might have missed.

Summer Nights, The Gucci Way

For the second chapter of their Monte Carlo campaign, Gucci captures the transition from sunny coastal escapes to the glamour of late summer evenings. Starring Tian Xi Wei, Amelia Gray, Anok Yai, and a global cast of models, the images showcase tailored silhouettes alongside standout accessories, including new interpretations of the Gucci Giglio, Gucci Jackie, and Dionysus bags. Celebrating 60 years of their iconic Flora motif, the collection pays tribute to the brand’s heritage while embracing the spirit of Monaco.

Dance Lovers, This Festival is For You

Chanel and Lincoln Center’s BAAND Together Dance Festival returns for its sixth year from July 28th to August 1st, bringing Ballet Hispánico New York, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, and Dance Theatre of Harlem together on one stage at the David H. A Campaign Just in Time For the Long Weekend

Burberry is heading off on a quintessentially British summer adventure with their new Escape to the Countryside campaign, starring Moses Martin in his fashion campaign debut alongside Edie Campbell, Nora Attal, and Sang Woo Kim. Set against hills, charming villages, and the historic Deene Park estate, the images celebrate the classic road trip while showcasing the fall 2026 collection’s modern take on the brand’s signature look. Soundtracked by Martin’s band, People I’ve Met, it sounds like the apple hasn’t fallen too far from the tree.

A Very Fancy New Addition to South Coast Plaza

Tiffany & Co. has opened another store on the West Coast, this time at South Coast Plaza. Clocking in at 15,000 square feet as designed by the renowned architect Peter Marino, the Costa Mesa location has a New York City touch. Inside screens by artist Oyoram offer views of the Californian coastline, and a light sculpture by Hugh Dutton illuminates iconic collections such as Hardwear, Bird on a Rock, Knot, and more. Taking inspiration from the state’s vast culture, objects from the archives are on display, emphasizing gemstones. Of note is one from Mes Grande on loan. Discovered in 1910 in Madagascar, it’s guaranteed to be the center of attention.

Sicily is Getting a Designer Spa

Find yourself in Sicily and looking for a relaxing experience? Dior just opened their first permanent spa at Belmond’s iconic Grand Hotel Timeo in Taormina. Set within the hotel’s terraced gardens, the retreat combines the brand’s signature wellness philosophy with Sicilian “art de vivre”, offering bespoke treatments, holistic wellness programs, and elegant treatment suites. Open to both hotel guests and the public, the spa promises an immersive escape with luxurious beauty in mind.

Miami Has a New Louis Vuitton Shop

Should you find yourself in Miami’s Design District, you might notice an addition to the area as Louis Vuitton just opened a women’s temporary store. With a resort-inspired experience that reflects the area’s coastal vibe, you’ll find multiple levels showcasing their latest women’s collections alongside curated contemporary pieces of art. Highlights include commissions by Raw-Edges Design Studio and Alex Proba. Designed to mix art and innovation, the shop also features an exclusive hand-painted Alzer Pyramid installation inspired by the city’s tropical landscape.

Valentino’s Summertime Aspen Experience

Summertime in Aspen might not have après ski but it does have some pretty fantastic art. In that vein, Valentino is collaborating with the Aspen Art Museum on their new presentation of “Arch Connelly: Straighten Your Wig and Pray”, on display now. This new relationship between the two extends beyond this exhibition and will create the first comprehensive monograph, to be released in 2027 along with a documentary about Arch Connelly’s life and impact. To celebrate, Aspen Art Museum has created a special installation in collaboration with Valentino’s store on Galena Street, featuring three pieces by Connelly himself, along with archival work, allowing visitors to interact with the artist’s repertoire outside the museum walls.

Summer Goths Will Love This Collection

As a part of Montblanc’s Writers Edition Series, the latest launch celebrates Bram Stoker, the Irish author behind Dracula. Released in the 1890s, the book serves as a source of inspiration for a series of writing instruments. Consisting of four distinct designs, the first is red and black, capturing the moments after a vampire’s bite as blood and poison fight for control of the human. Another takes inspiration from the creature’s transformation into a bat while a third nods to the Pravaz syringe, a medical tool created during the 19th century, while also alluding to the novel’s theme of blood transfusion. And finally, the rarest of the bunch features protective symbols and rituals like wild roses and garlic rendered in hand-applied enamel, mother-of-pearl inlays, and accented with diamonds and a red jasper. To round it out, there’s also a special purple ink along with a black velvet textured notebook plus a set of engraved cufflinks.

Two Very Fourth of July Appropriate Coach Collections

As the nation celebrates 250 years, Coach has just released a limited-edition collection of Tabby bags made in collaboration with artisans across America celebrating craftsmanship. Featuring the likes of A Cut Above Buckles by Andy Andrews from Utah, Bo Hubbard who hails from Brooklyn, and Texas’ LUKE Haynes and Rocketbuster Handmade Custom Boots, the series of designs uses everything from hand-tooled leather to quilting, tufting, floral leather inlay, and embroidery for their one-of-a-kind creations. Also in honor of the U.S. is the Americana collection, a reimagining of the classic red, white, and blue from a flag sweater to stars and stripes Tabby bags.

Those Iconic Gap Stripes Are Back

A core memory for many millennials has to be Gap’s 2000 holiday commercial — you only need to see all of the Instagram posts dedicated to it as proof. And within that ad was a brightly colored stripe sweater that will forever be tied to that time period. Well, it’s back courtesy of GapStudio and EVP and Creative Director of Gap Inc., Zac Posen, albeit reimagined for warm weather dressing. You might have made the connection if you saw Chase Infiniti’s custom BET Awards dress in that motif. While that design is one-of-one, you can get similar looks in the same striped mesh fabric be it a maxi dress, t-shirt, tank top, and long skirt. Shop it here.
