KiiiKiii wears MIU MIU
The newest K-pop group from the South Korean juggernaut Starship Entertainment, are born superstars.
Don’t let their sweet faces fool you; KiiiKiii, the latest girl group from mega South Korea’s Starship Entertainment, is here to take the K-pop world by storm. Consisting of Jiyu, Sui, Leesol, Haum, and Kya, the quintet teems with cheerful energy. Get them in a room, and you’ll see selfie-taking and giggles galore, which is fitting considering their band name refers to the sound one makes while laughing. Once the five are on set, the years of idol training kick in, and smiles become smizes with every snap. Their efforts have paid off — KiiiKiii’s pre-debut single, I Do Me, dropped on February 24th and the quintet has made the music show rounds performing the boppy anthem to cheering crowds.
KiiiKiii’s first single capped off a two-week unconventional marketing campaign featuring everything from a mohawked man screaming “I love KiiiKiii!” into the void to the band name being carved into pencils. The release has been dubbed “weirdcore” and “internet brain rot,” high praise for pop stars just making their way in the world. iFans are eager for more and they won’t have to wait long — the first EP, Uncut Gem, is slated for March 24th. Jiyu, 19, is the magnetic leader and a triple threat who can sing, dance, and rap. She’d love to experience traditional American cuisine— everything from burgers to donuts to apple pie.
Sui wears RALPH LAUREN and MISS CLAIRE SULLIVAN
Sui, 19, is seemingly soft-spoken yet lends a rich vocal tone to the group. Her favorite Korean snack is tteokbokki, a sweet and spicy rice cake dish made with hard-boiled eggs and fish cakes.
Leesol wears CHANEL
Leesol, 19, has spitfire rapping skills but also loves a good romantic drama, including Crash Landing on You.
Haum wears MISS CLAIRE SULLIVAN, POLO RALPH LAUREN AND LARROUDE
Haum, 19, is known for her expressive dance moves and describes her personality as cat-like, equal parts mysterious and independent.
Kya wars POLO RALPH LAUREN
Kya, 14, is the youngest member — and perhaps the spunkiest. She’s never without lip gloss or a cheeky smile.
