Their chic, snow-friendly capsule collection is now available.
Somehow it’s mid-October and before you know it, the falling leaves will turn to falling snow. For those of us who live for winter on the slopes, that first powder day can’t come soon enough. Whether that describes you or if you consider yourself more of an après-ski enthusiast, Louis Vuitton has just come out with a capsule made for the cold weather months. Featuring both men’s and women’s styles, the LV Ski collection ranges from the highly technical like actual skis and helmets to the more casual, in the form of fuzzy handbags and cozy sweaters, the pieces are sure to be a big hit among the Aspen and Gstaad set this season.
If you’re looking for stylish yet functional pieces that can withstand a day on the slopes, the capsule includes waterproof jackets and pants. They’re made to be layered over ski suits or sporty knit layers like leggings and long sleeve tops. In shades like red, navy, black, and white they’re also very eye-catching, in case your friends need to spot you while you’re heading down a run. To complete the look, helmets and goggles, all featuring the brand’s signature monogram are also available. And in case you really want a head-to-toe Louis Vuitton look, the brand is offering skis as well as introducing a snowboard, available in three sizes.
But should you be more into sitting by the fire with a cup of mulled wine or enjoying a cozy sled ride while the rest of your group squeezes in one more run, there are plenty of après-friendly pieces in the capsule as well. Most notably are the bags, which nod to ski culture but look equally at home in the city. The Capucines Taurillon bag, a riff on the signature style, features a shearling trim while the Coussin bags echo the reflections of ski googIes. Fans of the LV Twist will find it in two shades of padded nylon and the Speedy, a classic design, is reimagined in black Nylon. If you’re looking for cold weather footwear, there’s the Ruby Chelsea boots, which also features a shearling trim as well as the Aspen, a thick-soled ankle boot. To round it out, a selection of warm sweaters, scarves, and mittens all featuring the LV Flocon logo, a design that nods to both a snowflake and the Monogram flower.
