McQueen brings back the Manta bag while a slew of designer sneakers dropped.
Fashion loves a nostalgic reference and this week has several, as brands dig into their archives to bring back some favorites. For McQueen that means a campaign celebrating the Manta bag, a reimagining of a style that debuted as a part of 2010’s iconic “Plato Atlantis” collection. In Rimowa’s case, they looked to the year 1969 and the hand-carry cases they produced during that era to inspire their The Grid collection of limited edition suitcases. As for Balenciaga, they too also recall memories of the late 2010s, when their Triple S sneaker was everywhere. For 2026, the brand launched the Triple S.2, a thinner soled model alongside the Radar, an equally as slim design. And speaking of sneakers, Louis Vuitton, Versace, and Nike all have new ones to know.
Read on to learn more and catch up on what else you might have missed.
An Iconic McQueen Bag is Back
Few collections are more memorable than McQueen’s spring summer 2010’s “Plato Atlantis”, with its digital printed dresses and Armadillo heels. Also seen on that runway was the De Manta bag, an archival silhouette that makes its return 16 years later. Now called the Manta, the brand has released their first dedicated campaign shot by Tim Walker. Set within a gorgeous waterscape, the imagery draws on the beauty of the natural world. Balancing elemental influences with an edge, find the handbag in a number of leather finishes paired with intricate charms.
Loro Piana Names Their 2026 Record Bale Winner
Fun fact about Loro Piana that you probably may not know: they have a Record Bale Award, which goes to the farm that produces the finest merino wool. In its 27th edition, the ceremony took place at the Tokyo National Museum earlier this week. The Australian prize went to Pyrenees Park, owned by Pamela, Robert, and Bradley Sandland, which produced 92 kg of fiber with a thickness of 10.4 microns. New Zealand’s Earnscleugh won with their 91 kg of wool that clocked in at 11.2 microns. For context, a micron is equivalent to one thousandth of a millimeter and the average human hair is 70 microns, making these strands mind-bogglingly slim and a testament to the brand’s devotion to sourcing the highest quality materials. Following the contest, Loro Piana will acquire the bales and transform them into The Gift of Kings garments, a special collection that includes labels that trace their creation from the year the animal was shorn to its origins and details down to the micron. Lightweight, stretchy, and easily adaptable to temperature fluctuations, consider them the most elite of an already very elite offering from the label.
Balenciaga Taps Katy Perry, Yao Chen, and Hugo Ekitke For New Campaign
In the late 2010s, no sneaker was more popular than the Balenciaga Triple S, with its signature chunky silhouette. Now that the brand is under the direction of Pierpaolo Piccioli, that design is getting a revamp. Dubbed the Triple S.2, it’s a sleeker shape and joins the Radar as Piccioli’s first two forays into athletic footwear. To accompany their debut, a campaign dropped today featuring Katy Perry, actress Yao Chen, and Hugo Ekitke. Shot by Mark Peckmezian, with videos by Mitchy Ryan, you’ll find the three juxtaposed against the sneakers, TechWear looks, and pieces from the fall 2026. Also, because you can’t have Perry without music, you’ll find a series of playlists that soundtrack not just her workout but also that of Chen and Ekitke. They’ll be streamable on Balenciaga’s social channels.
Louis Vuitton Gets Titled
Speaking of sneakers, Louis Vuitton’s newest, the Tilted, reimagines the classic skate style. First unveiled during the men’s spring-summer 2026 presentation, the silhouette has perfectly balanced soles, making each shoe in the pair interchangeable. Signature details like the angled logo, Monogram Flower outsole, and 1990s inspired paneling, blend old and new. Crafted from lightweight materials and offered in a wide range of textures and finishes, the Tilted is available now.
A Collaboration For Art Lovers
For over a century, Montblanc have combined art and craftmanship, and their “Masters of Art” collection continues this legacy with a vibrant tribute to Henri Matisse. Celebrating his revolutionary use of color, form, and abstraction, the collection reinterprets his most iconic works into different writing tools. From lacquer finishes inspired by “Blue Nude III” to details reflecting his cut-outs and Tahitian influences, each piece reflects a different chapter of Matisse’s career.
An Archival Travel Favorite Makes a Limited Return
Rimowa is delving into their past with The Grid collection, a numbered limited edition of 1,969 pieces inspired by its 1969 archival hand-carry cases. Reimagining their signature grooves through a bold geometric lens, the design introduces an embossed grid pattern pressed into its silver aluminum shell. Inside are leather accents and a quilted lining, making your travel extra luxurious. Find it here.
Versace and Onitsuka Team Up
Did you even go to Tokyo if you didn’t make a stop at Onitsuka Tiger? Well, you don’t have to make a trip to Japan to acquire their newest styles. The brand teamed up with Versace on a collection that riffs on the Tai-Chi Sakura, a classic tai-chi trainer. Consisting of both men’s and women’s styles, you’ll find an array of finishes from suede to metallic to leather as well as a series of loafer iterations. Produced in Tottori, where Onitsuka has a factory, consider it the perfect melding of two brands that you didn’t know needed to be together until now. To accompany the release, a campaign shot by Frank Lebon captures the dynamic youthful energy embodied by the collaboration. Should you want a pair, you can shop the range here.

Roger Vivier Opens a Paris Flagship
In 1937 Roger Vivier opened his first atelier on rue Royale and nearly a century later, the brand opened up their new flagship atelier nearby, at 20 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Spanning two floors, it’s the largest worldwide. Every inch of the space reflects the shoemaker’s honed aesthetic from the sweeping staircase to the walls that are bathed in cream and mother-of-pearl stucco (made exclusively by a Tuscan artisan) to the custom pink Pierre Frey wallpaper. As always textures are rich and detailed with a mix of velvet, bouclé, suede and lacquered finishes. To finish out the decor you’ll find furniture and decorative elements by the likes of Hervé Van der Straeten, B&B Italia, and Knoll mixed in with Louis XIV and XVI antiques. As for the art, it’s equally as impressive and includes lithographs by Picasso and Poliakoff, a work by René Gruau, as well as original sketches and collages by Roger Vivier. Guests can shop the full range of offerings but what makes this location special is Atelier Vivier, a made-to-order service exclusive to Paris before its eventual launch in boutiques worldwide. Nike x Melitta Baumeister Has Dropped
During the lead up to the New York City Marathon last November, Melitta Baumeister and Nike staged an immersive experience to announce their partnership. The two reimagined the Vomero Premium, a style beloved by runners, into a silhouette that’s equally as suited for city life. As a follow up, earlier this month Sha’Carri Richardson revealed Baumeister’s had another design up her sleeve: a tweaked version of the Pegasus Premium, another running sneaker. Both are hand-painted, giving them a unique feel and created with the idea that one must accept imperfection — art much like running is best done when it’s for yourself and not anyone else. On the bottom you’ll find Baumeister’s eyes, another detail that reinforces that movement is deeply personal. Both are now available at Melitta Baumeister, with drops slated for April 7th at Dover Street Market locations in New York, London, Los Angeles, Paris, Beijing, Ginza, and Singapore. On April 8th you can also find it on SNKRS and select Nike and NBHD retail locations globally.
