Tales & Tellers runs from October 15-16th and has over 22 pieces of work.
Fashion week attendees might recognize the Palais D’Iena. For the majority of the year, it serves as the head office of the Economic, Social, and Environmental Council (ESEC). It also happens to be the location of the Miu Miu show every season, and now, it also serves as one of the places where you can check out Art Basel Paris. In honor of the festival, Miu Miu is staging an art project created by Polish artist Goshka Macuga (who also created the installation for the brand’s spring-summer 2025 show) and Elvira Dyangani Ose, the Museum of Contemporary Art director in Barcelona. The exhibit is designed to be an immersive experience, and guests should “not expect a normal exhibition,” says Macuga.
Titled Tales and Tellers, the two-day event will feature a diverse array of short films and conversations organized by Miu Miu. Since 2011, iconic female filmmakers like Agnès Varda, Mati Diop, and Zoe Cassavetes, among others, have showcased their works with the brand as a part of their Women’s Tales series. Consider this an extension of the project, albeit with a few added surprises. Featuring films by the likes of actress Chloë Sevigny, Dakota Fanning, Ava DuVernay, and more, there are also performances mixed in. 30 women, clad in Miu Miu pieces past and present, will act out moments from said movies, whether it be singing, skateboarding, sewing or even yoga. Simultaneously, on the screens surrounding the space, you’ll find runway shows and other videos that showcase Miuccia Prada’s love of “working across disciplines, through conceptual site-specific installations and moving images.”
