10 Things You Might Have Missed This Week: New Handbags Galore

New York Fashion Week is a mere seven days away and while it’s shaping up to be a quieter schedule than most, there are still some noteworthy moments like Veronica Leoni’s debut at Calvin Klein. In the meantime, other brands are dropping new product lines and spring campaigns ahead of the busy fashion month calendar. Among the notables are all the bag launches like Bottega Veneta’s Ciao Ciao bag, Louis Vuitton’s shopper tote, and of course, Dua Lipa as the front woman for Chanel’s latest style, the Chanel 25. On the ads side, Miu Miu plays with light and dark while Fendi taps Steven Meisel for their 100th anniversary collection.

Dua Lipa Fronts The Chanel 25 Ad Campaign

You might have noticed Dua Lipa carrying a certain Chanel bag when she made her appearance at the brand’s latest couture show. That’s no coincidence as she’s just been announced the face of the Chanel 25 handbag ad campaign. Featuring a film by Gordon von Steiner, it sees the pop star in New York City, alternating between busy street shots and a photo studio. As she sings along to Fine Young Cannibals’ She Drives Me Crazy, Dua Lipa notes how much she loves that song. “It’s such an anthem from the ‘90s, and I’ve always loved that era, probably because that’s when I was born. I find it’s often a time I go back to whether it’s fashion, music or film. I find it so inspiring,” she says via press release. A 90s Sporty Prada Moment

Hunting down vintage Prada has always been a goal of fans of the brand and because of that,  their sporty and technical Linea Rossa line has developed a cult following. While getting your hands on archival pieces might be a challenge, there’s an easy way to circumvent that. The brand just released The America’s Cup Sneaker, which is a throwback to a shoe initially designed in the 90s for the Luna Rosa crew. Ciao Bottega!

The cute little animal chairs that lined the Bottega Veneta spring 2025 show might have gone viral but there was plenty to love on the runway as well. Matthieu Blazy’s dedication craftsmanship can be seen on everything from the spectacular dresses and coats to the handbags and shoes. One bag that’s worth noting? The Ciao Ciao, which draws from the popular Andiamo with its knot detail and strap. Like its name implies, this is the tote to wear when exchanging hellos and goodbyes, a style made for the hustle and bustle of life. Available in black, brown, or playful pink, it’s an elegant everyday accessory.

Church’s Hits the Books

For Milan Fashion Week, Church’s presented their Autumn-Winter 2025 collection in Milan’s historic Biblioteca Braidense, merging tradition and innovation in a setting that’s rich with heritage. The enchanting Reading Room served as the perfect backdrop to highlight the brand’s signature craftsmanship and refinement. Featuring shoemaking demonstrations from one of their artisans, Mark Segnitz, it was an opportunity to highlight next’s seasons best styles including the Chetwynd Contour, a modern take on the classic wingtip shoe as well as the Poulton hiking boots, and the Preston loafers.

Canada Goose Introduces Eyewear

After the success of the Snow Goose by Canada Goose collection, Creative Director Haider Ackerman is adding eyewear to the line. It’s a natural extension — if you’re going to be outdoors in the cold, you’ll also need protection from the sun and wind as well. Featuring 18 sunglasses designs and 23 optical styles, all made from earth friendly materials including Acetate Renew, a fully sustainable carbon based product, titanium, and a plant based resin. From the Summit, a wraparound style to a sporty take on aviators to thick rimmed glasses, they’re equal parts fashion and function. The collection is online now and in stores on February 5. 

Gucci is in The Mood For Love

This Valentine’s Day, Gucci are getting all loved up in Gucci Together, a heartfelt campaign celebrating love’s many expressions. Creative Director Sabato De Sarno tapped photographer Tina Barney on portraits that capture intimate moments between real couples, families, and friends, all set in the warmth of home. Starring the likes of Mariacarla Boscono and Claudio Stecchi, Hong Lin and Senyao Chen. George Barnett and Pixie Geldof, Carlos Nazario and Joe Morris, and more, the images explore the beauty of connection and the subtle languages of love. Alongside these cozy visuals, Gucci also has a curated Valentine’s gifting selection. From Rosso Ancora-tinted Horsebit handbags to GG Emblem pieces, silk Flora scarves, and Link to Love fine jewellery, the collection blends elegance with sentiment, offering something special for every kind of relationship.

A Unisex Tote Made For Schlepping

Pharrell Williams and Louis Vuitton are elevating the humble shopping bag with the new Shopper Tote, a standout from the SS25 collection. Available in classic LV Monogram canvas, alongside brightly colored options for a pop of fun, the tote combines chic design with practicality. Miu Miu Finds The Light

For spring campaign, Miu Miu looked to the interplay of light and dark. Starring the show’s opening model Sunday Rose Kidman along with actresses Joey King, Liu Haocun, and others, the images find them leaning against walls and perched on chairs as the sunlight streams over them. Inspired by precision and simplicity, namely the purity of a childhood wardrobe, you’ll find chemise dresses worn casually off the shoulder, mangled shirts, and short sweaters, all maintaining that innocent theme. Also featured is a collaboration with Petit Bateau, a French clothing brand known for its classic pieces, namely in the form of tees and tanks. Alongside the clothes, the Aventure and Arcadie bags are back while shoe wise, sneakers and block-heeled Mary Janes are certain to be favorites.

Fendi’s 100th Anniversary Ad Campaign

In honor of the brand’s 100th anniversary, last September Fendi showed a collection that bridges the past and present, inspired by the significance of the year 1925. Artistic Director Kim Jones draws from pivotal moments of that time period like the Art Deco Exhibition in Paris, Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway, and F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby to craft a collection celebrating both practicality and elegance. Combining couture with ready-to-wear, the designs embody movement, lightness, and a matriarchal ethos that honors women who do. Now we get a first glimpse at the accompanying ad campaign. Shot by  by Steven Meisel and stars Mona Tougaard, Karolina Spakowski and Lina Zhang, the elegant portraits offer the promise of a sunny, carefree spring.

Roger Vivier Goes on the Run

When you think of Roger Vivier, the brand’s classic Pilgrim buckle flats and heels are what first comes to mind. But they’re venturing into the sporty realm with the latest addition to their sneaker family. Viv’ on the Run is a new style that reimagines urban sophistication through a lens of style and freedom. In a playful campaign directed by Gherardo Felloni, French actress Lou Lampros embodies the sneaker’s spirit as she dashes through the streets of Paris, after swapping high heels for the new pair of shoes. Rooted in the Maison’s legacy, the design pays homage to the iconic Choc heel with its curved shape, now reimagined in a lightweight EVA sole for mobility.
