Coming off the back of a stellar Louis Vuitton debut, music maestro turned creative director Pharrell Williams has announced that the next instalment of his Louis Vuitton odyssey will take place in Hong Kong. Set to hold a pre-fall menswear show on November 30, the French luxury giant noted it has always “found the cultural vibrancy of this island archipelago an ongoing source of inspiration”, praising the city as “a melting pot of East and West that has given rise to a thriving metropolis of art, culture, and industry”.
Highlighting the importance of Hong Kong-based consumers – with retail sales in the city rising 13.7% this August – the special administrative region of China has also hosted major exhibitions for the house, such as Louis Vuitton: A Passion for Creation (2009) and Time Capsule (2017). With Williams’ first runway show hosting industry glitterati such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, the incoming display is sure to be one to remember, and we can’t bloomin’ wait.
