Proenza Schouler Created a Monogram Logo

The duo debuted the design at their latest show.

Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez showed their SS24 collection at the headquarters of Phillips auction house. Not simply chosen for its glass floor-to-cealing windows, and vast white interiors, but because the twosome have created an artwork that will be auctioned at Phillips, estimated to go for somewhere up to $15,000. Cha-ching. A rendition of the work, a sketch of the pair’s initials, made an appearance in the collection as a new monogram for the label – quietly finding itself across sweaters and leather belt bags. Elsewhere, the designer proposed light-as-air, pleated chiffon frocks, string vests and bleached easy-going jeans.

Building a cohesive dialogue with last season’s Proenza Schouler collection, McCollough and Hernandez cleverly brought forward a slew of delightful design codes. Like wipe-clean leather frocks, or strong-shouldered, monochromatic tailoring, as seen on musician Weyes Blood, who also created the score for the show. An embellished skirt seemingly made of shards of glass proved a highlight, as did elevated parkas, low-strung trousers and hairily-good bags – prepped and primed to dress the label’s loyal New York customer.
