Sotheby’s and The Luxury Group Are Offering Bucket List Experiences

This new partnership between the Luxury Group, part of Marriott International’s collection of hotel brands, and Sotheby’s, the world-renowned auction house, is redefining how we experience both art and travel. It’s a collaboration that combines the glamorous nature of high-end collectibles with the magic of bespoke getaways, offering a way to explore the world and its cultural treasures. 

At the heart of this collaboration is Sotheby’s Sealed, an innovative online platform that merges the privacy of a private sale with the thrill of an auction. For the first time, Sotheby’s is using its Sealed program to auction curated experiences rather than physical items, allowing travelers to bid on bespoke itineraries inspired by the diverse categories of Sotheby’s sales spanning art, fashion, wine, spirits, and more.

The collaboration kicked off with two unique experiences that promise to be unforgettable. For fashion lovers, the Alexander McQueen Discovery, presented by the EDITION hotel, allows guests to explore London through the visionary lens of the legendary fashion designer. On the agenda is an exclusive tour of iconic McQueen pieces at the Victoria & Albert Museum as well as a personalized high-fashion photoshoot with Ann Ray, McQueen’s longtime creative collaborator. For those who love history with a stiff drink, the Whiskey Reverie presented by The Ritz-Carlton, takes guests on a journey from New York to Tennessee. Guests will explore the often-overlooked Black roots of the American whiskey industry with renowned entrepreneur and author Fawn Weaver. These experiences not only offer travel but combine immersive narratives that intertwine history and culture. 

Beyond the auctioned experiences, the partnership also introduces masterclass experiences, offering VIP guests elite access to exclusive events in some of the world’s most prestigious hotel suites. For example, the Whiskey & Watches masterclass at The Ritz-Carlton New York will introduce guests to some of the most valuable American whiskies and a collection of rare watches. Meanwhile, a jewelry masterclass at the recently transformed St. Regis New York will feature select pieces from Sotheby’s Important Jewels auction, exclusively for members of Vogue100. 

The collaboration doesn’t stop there! The two will also launch a series featuring short-form videos that celebrate artistry throughout the world, highlighting the extraordinary artworks housed in Luxury Group hotels, and the locations they reside in. This series, set to be featured on Sothebys.com, aims to showcase the cultural richness of locations around the world and share meaningful travel recommendations.
