One in every five families in the UK experiences food insecurity, but Grand Collection – in collaboration with UK retailer End – is working to change this with its annual food fundraiser. Known for their NYC community focused initiatives, this is the skate brand’s fourth annual food drive, however, it’s the first time it has extended the fundraiser outside the bounds of New York and landed in London. From now until the end of December, a portion of the proceeds from all sales on grandcollectionco.com will go toward feeding New Yorkers in need. Or, you can shop the two previously unreleased fundraising tees here, from which 100% of proceeds will go to London based food banks.

A part of the collective’s long term strategy and mission to change the way people consume fashion and to drive the change towards a circular fashion economy, the pivotal move comes in partnership with the OR Foundation. Reinforcing the ideology of buying quality over quantity by raising awareness and lobbying for change, its part of a 3-year plan that also includes finding and promoting practical solutions for the fast fashion items that its members already have, a robust set of fast fashion ‘criteria’ (with regard to the fast fashion ban), and an exploratory trip to Kantamanto in Ghana (the largest reuse and upcycling economy in the world).
LABRUM LAUNCHES AN UPBEAT CAMPAIGN FOR AW22
Labrum’s AW22 Poetics Of Movement collection and brand new accompanying campaign is an ode to just that; movement – a rallying noun and a borderless verb. Lensed by Justin French a trio of joyous models frolic against a blue backdrop in the mosaic garments that Foday Dumbuya, with Dazed editor-in-chief Ib Kamara, designed. Channelling Labrum’s tagline, “Designed by an immigrant”, its ethos and the learnings of journeys past, the AW22 collection explores real-time examples of migration and diaspora, aiming to uplift those who face the societal limitations, complexities and nuances of the unresolved label: immigrant. Crafted in Freetown, Sierra Leone – Dumbuya’s hometown – local artisans developed the fabrics from West African cloth, bridging the gap between Western and African culture.

PUCCI’S 2023 RESORT COLLECTION IS CAPTIVATINGLY COLOURFUL
La Famiglia – it means “the family” in Italian. It’s also the name of Pucci’s trippy 2023 Resort collection that just sent a sea of luscious silks, accessories and a mosaic of whirling colours to rain down upon us fashion folk. Creative director Camille Miceli’s intention was to create clothes that transcend a single season. She proposed an amalgamated wardrobe that feels flexible, festive and inclusive all at once. From outerwear to swimwear, active looks to evening looks, tailoring to loungewear, whatever you do, do it decked-out in head-to-toe Pucci.
THE ALIGHIERI CHRISTMAS TREE TACKLES DOMESTIC ABUSE
More Christmas tree news, Alighieri just revealed its twelve-metre-tall forecourt Christmas tree. Atop the Television Centre’s (the reimagining of the former home of the BBC in West London) iconic coniferous, the Alighieri Hand of Protection looks like a gold crown. Designed by the London-based jeweller, the festive sculpture is a powerful symbol of strength and hope in support of Refuge – the largest domestic abuse service and support organisation in the UK. “This beautiful Christmas display will shine a bright spotlight on domestic abuse during an unprecedented winter of financial hardship for survivors,” says Gabi Field, director of fundraising and communications at Refuge. “This festive season, we are making it clear that the cost-of-living crisis shouldn’t cost women their lives.” She goes to thank those who will donate this winter, pointing out the immense impact these donations have the potential to have.

KASSL EDITIONS REINVENTS THE ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 9
Dripping in rubber, the new Gel-Nimbus 9 trainers from Asics and Kassl Editions are the footwear find we’ve been dreaming about. Releasing in a limited run, with just 150 hand-crafted pairs available, the recurring high-shine seen in Kassl’s signature outerwear is what makes them such a standout staple. It’d be remiss not to mention though, that the shoes are considered art pieces, and because of their delicacy can get damaged more easily while wearing. Kassl and Asics advise you to wear the Gel-Nimbus 9 trainers at your own risk. The press statement reads, “due to the characteristics of the material, there is a possibility of colour transfer, fading, and odour when it comes in contact with other materials. This is a piece of art and should not be used for the purpose of wearing.” Buy yours exclusively at Dover Street Market London, on the Dover Street Market website and on KASSL Edition’s website.

THE JIMMY CHOO X TIMBERLAND LINK-UP CHANNELS NEW YORK CITY
It’s going down and Jimmy Choo is shouting Timber(land)! The two polar-opposite footwear favourites have joined forces for an exclusive capsule collection inspired by the creative energy and gritty spirit of New York City. It’s an unexpected sophomore pairing (both worlds first collided in 2020), but one we instantly loved as soon as we had seen the high-octane designs on offer. The capsule, which comprises seven styles across men’s and women’s, some in hot pink velvet or harnessed black leather, others embellished by Swarovski crystals, and sees Timberland’s iconic Original Yellow Boot re-imagined by Jimmy Choo creative director Sandra Choi.
Bringing a new dimension to their partnership, the collab taps Harlem’s Fashion Row, a New York-based agency that provides a platform for underrepresented Black and Latinx designers and creatives who worked alongside New York-native designer Shanel Campbell. Jimmy Choo x Timberland is the total reinvention of a cult classic.
