THE AGE OF ELEGANCE

The Row’s FW24 show took place amid the rococo interiors of a villa on the Rue des Capucines in Paris, with some attendees no doubt surprised that a no-phone policy was being applied to proceedings. The label’s founders, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, wanted their audience to fully immerse themselves in their design machinations, and who could blame them? The parade of perfectly constructed coats paired with bodice dresses and the models who were wearing them deserved everyone’s undivided attention. Our forever favorite Kristen McMenamy strutted in a structured, pleated beige gown, her signature snow-white locks flowing behind her, while Mica Argañaraz and Rianne Van Rompaey wore long wool coats effortlessly draped in that very Olsen-esque manner. The casting director Ashley Brokaw had added some newer faces to the lineup too. Particular standouts were the Chilean model Sara Caballero in a long black off-the-shoulder dress and Awar Odhiang in a silver-bell headpiece. As we reach the apex of social media usage, quieting our phones to live in the Olsens’ world for a moment isn’t such a bad thing.
