1. SON ERMITA AND BINIDUFA, MENORCA
As Spain’s Balearic Islands continue to rise in popularity for Euro summers, travelers are setting their sights on lesser-known Menorca. There, stay at up-and-coming hospitality outfit Vestige Collection’s Son Ermità and Binidufà, twin hotels set on 1,975 clifftop acres on the island’s wild northern coast.
The 10-suite Ermità opened in 2025, but the spring 2026 unveiling of Binidufà, which is landscaped with 250 native trees, will officially complete the resort. Combined, there will be wellness programs (including dreamy tucked-away yoga platforms), plant-focused dining programs, contemporary art displays, and, naturally, access to blissfully quiet beaches.

2. MONSIEUR DIOR BY DOMINIQUE CRENN, LOS ANGELES
The first Dior restaurant outside Paris opened in November atop the new House of Dior Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive. Designed by legendary architect Peter Marino, the boutique is a four-story flagship that extends the maison’s Hollywood ties, and introduces California to the brand’s culinary world on its third- floor dining room. Led by Dominique Crenn (the
first female chef to be awarded three Michelin stars, for her work at Atelier Crenn in San Francisco), the menu combines fresh West Coast ingredients with a French sensibility: think confit salmon with fermented red pepper and clams, and abalone with anchovy au poivre and grilled lettuce.

3. TAICHUNG GREEN MUSEUMBRARY, TAIWAN
The futuristic cultural complex designed by Sanaa stitches together eight mesh-cloaked cubes that appear to float over a city park. The name is a portmanteau of museum and library and is thanks to the merging of Taichung Art Museum with Taichung Public Library: a new educational hub evoking weightlessness and free flow through light, fluid curves, and soaring volume. Across the eight galleries, visitors will find interactive exhibitions, site-specific installations, and a multi- disciplinary residency program.

4. UBUYU, A BANYAN TREE ESCAPE, TANZANIA
This spring, the Singapore-based Banyan Group makes its safari debut in the less-tourist-heavy wildlife haven of Ruaha National Park (home to a massive elephant population). This all-villa camp, with its one-to-three- bedroom thatched-roof units, are brought to life with local artisans honoring Tanzanian crafts, heritage, and materials. And from the villa’s private infinity pools, unfenced views of the park will thrill birdwatchers in particular, thanks to the area’s 570 avian species.

8. ABU DHABI’S ART BOOM
The capital city of the United Arab Emirates continues to ramp up its cultural bona fides this year with the opening of high-profile art institutions. On Saadiyat Island, a quick drive from downtown, the Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is planned as the largest branch of the Guggenheim, spanning more than 452,000 square feet. It will present works by
the likes of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Mark Rothko alongside contemporary creations by artists from the Arab world and beyond. And the seven galleries inside the newly opened Zayed National Museum celebrate 300,000 years of human history in the UAE via 1,500 artifacts. The building itself, designed by Foster + Partners, features soaring towers that recall the wings of a falcon.

9. IMPERIAL HOTEL, KYOTO
In the historic, lantern-lit Gion district, the nearly 100-year-old landmark Yasaka Kaikan building is reborn as a 55-room hotel. To help tell the story of this heritage structure, domestic materials are used throughout, from Japanese marble to Ōya stone
and Tamina-ishi, a volcanic rock from Kagoshima. Interiors are split into three distinct areas offering their own experiences: there’s tatami flooring in the North Wing, while the Main Building has ceiling- height windows that frame the city’s gabled skyline for unforgettable views.
