Saoirse Ronan, Jeremy Allen White, and Greta Lee were amongst our favorites of the night.
You’re not imagining things — yes, there technically was an Emmy Awards earlier in the year, delayed due to the writer’s and actor’s strikes back in 2023. The second round, which happened last night during the ceremony’s normal September slot, is back to business as normal and was one to remember. History was made courtesy of a slew of wins from Shogun, including Anna Sawai’s win for Best Actress in a Drama, making her the first Asian woman to do so. Perennial favorites Hacks and The Bear took home trophies as well. As for the red carpet looks? Loewe dominated the red carpet, dressing host Dan Levy, Greta Lee, and others. Andrew Scott and Jonathan Bailey decided that, yes, tuxedos were in, but let’s lose the shirt button, opting for a bare-chested look. And while most walked the red carpet alone, Saoirse Ronan went official with her husband for the first time. Read on for our top 10 favorites of the evening.
1. Saiorse Ronan in Custom Louis Vuitton
The actress looked chic as usual in this midnight blue Louis Vuitton dress. She turned heads on the carpet making her first ever appearance as a married couple with husband Jack Lowden.
2. Greta Lee in Loewe and Tiffany & Co
The Emmy nominee was one to remember in this Loewe dress, channel equal parts Björk, cool bride, and angel energy.
3. Brie Larson in Custom Chanel
Brie Larson said one last hurrah to her character, Elizabeth Zott, after her Emmy nomination for Best Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Lessons in Chemistry, wearing a Chanel dress that referenced the 50s and 60s.
4. Anna Sawai in Vera Wang and Cartier High Jewelry
The Shogun star chose a bright red custom Vera Wang dress to walk the red carpet and tied the look together with some Cartier jewelry. She proceeded to make history by winning the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, while the series won 18 Emmys overall. What a night!
5. Nicola Coughlan in Prabal Gurung
The Bridgerton Emerald (not diamond) of the season shimmered in a Prabal Gurung dress. This is Coughlan’s first time at the Emmys, and she pulled off an amazing look for her debut on the red carpet.
6. Andrew Scott in Custom Viviene Westwood
Andrew Scott looked as if he was still summering in Europe courtesy of a sleek black suit with an unbuttoned black shirt.
7. Jeremy Allen White in Calvin Klein
Before winning his second Emmy as an outstanding actor in a comedy series for the hit TV show The Bear, the actor walked the red carpet looking dapper in this classic tuxedo by Calvin Klein.
8. Jonathan Bailey in Giorgio Armani Made to Measure and Omega
The Fellow Travelers actor didn’t win big but he certainly won best dressed among the men for this louche take on the tuxedo.
9. Tyler James Williams in Dolce & Gabbana and Tiffany & Co. Jewelry
Tyler proved that sleeves are optional when walking the red carpet after rocking this look and the internet couldn’t have had a better reaction as Twitter was ablaze.
10. Ayo Edebiri in Bottega Veneta
Every awards show Ayo mixes it up and the Emmys were no different. The Bear star sparkled in this custom Bottega Venetta dress printed with starfish and sequins pairing the look with black pumps.
