A Dreamy Escape With Vilebrequin at St. Regis Longboat Key

Vilebrequin Boutique at the St. Regis Longboat Key Resort

Sabrage, stingrays, and snow showers await.

French luxury swimwear brand Vilebrequin, born in St.Tropez, has dedicated its last 50 years to the art of living at the beach. The secret to their success? A carefree freedom emblematic of the French Riviera in the 1970’s. It’s fitting then that the brand chose to partner with the St. Regis Longboat Key Resort on a new boutique as well as a capsule collection exclusive to the location. The resort, which opened last August, provides a bespoke luxury experience on the Gulf of Florida. With a property encompassing 168 rooms and 26 suites with breathtaking ocean views, multiple pools, culinary experiences, bars, and of course one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, it’s the ideal seaside escape. To celebrate this new partnership, Vilebrequin invited 10 Magazine USA to experience everything the resort has to offer. From testing out the new collection while swimming with stingrays to sunset sabrage to spas, here’s what to know about one of the newest additions to the St. Regis portfolio and its partnership with the luxury swimwear label.

Upon arrival, we dropped off our bags in our luxurious rooms that include freestanding bathtubs, rainfall showers and spacious walk-in closets. Our group reconvened in the courtyard, also known as “The Pools” which features an array of swimming pools, lounges, and cabanas before setting off on a private tour of the property with the charming general manager. He talked us through the history and design of the space, reminding us of the Astor family who pioneered the luxury hotel industry in the United States with the opening of the first St. Regis in New York.

This vision for hospitality can be felt here from the dining to the amenities. From the steakhouse CW Prime which serves premium aged beef and seafood, to the Italian coastal trattoria Riva offering freshly made pasta, to Aura, which adds a Latin American twist to the tropical setting with its open-air grill, the food offerings were all top-tier. Drinks wise, you can have your pick depending on your mood. St. Regis Bar is reminiscent of old-school New York speakeasies that showcase live jazz while Monkey Bar is located directly on the beach and celebrates local culture with tiki beverages. Plus, exclusive for hotel guests is Oshen, a rooftop space serving elevated cocktails and small fusion plates inspired by Japanese and Peruvian cuisine.

Vilebrequin Pool & Cabana Club at the St. Regis Longboat Key Resort

Given that no relaxing beach escape is complete without a spa experience, the one at St. Regis Longboat is expansive. You’ll find cold plunges, saunas, snow showers (yes, actual snow), multiple relaxation rooms, and massage facilities. Also worth noting are the private wellness rooms which include a bathtub, shower, massage tables, and a terrace with a pool and ocean view.

Our first evening concluded with sunset cocktails and fabulous dinner at the aforementioned Oshen restaurant, where we all learned how to pop champagne bottles with a sword (it’s called Sabrage in case you were wondering). The next day was quite the adventure in the saltwater lagoon, where we fed stingrays and learned about the species from the on-staff marine biologists. Clad in the newest Vilebrequin capsule collection, there’s no better way to test out the pieces. Afterwards, we brought our fashionable swim attire to a more appropriate setting: the exclusive Vilebrequin Cabana Club, where we celebrated with poolside snacks and drinks (no swords this time). For those who forgot their bikinis, they’re in luck — Vilebrequin opened an on-site boutique, showcasing a curated selection of their latest collection, including a marine-themed capsule exclusive to the location. Featuring juggling octopi, and mermaid acrobats, the pieces playfully nod to Sarasota’s ties to the Ringling family.

Our weekend marks the beginning of a global partnership between the swimwear brand and St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. Today the two will debut immersive experiences across 12 properties from Bali to Mallorca to Bermuda. Each location will include cabana takeovers as well as a co-branded capsule collection featuring playful details like sandcastles, boats, and palm trees. Check it out here and plan your next summer getaway accordingly.
