He captures nude bodies traversing the cityscape, between 9pm and 5am from spring into winter 2025. All five boroughs are featured as he heads east to west, up to down across Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, the Bronx, and Staten Island. Whether you’ve been a fan of McGinley or are just discovering the artist now, his images will make you fall in love again and again with New York. The exhibition is open until August 8.

Happy Birthday Marilyn!

To mark the Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe’s 100th birthday, TASCHEN reissued Marilyn & Me a photo book long out of print. Besides the historic exhibitions at the National Portrait Gallery in London and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, this book shows the actress at her most personal. More than 100 photographs taken by Lawrence Schiller, Monroe’s last photographer who worked with her until the morning of her final day, are brought together in this volume.

It’s Tea Time!

Founded by artist Juno Shen, Soft Hours is a new boutique tea house opening in the Lower East Side inspired by the Song Dynasty, a time marked by its appreciation for nature which influenced architecture, literature, food, and tea. Going to the meticulously appointed spot means experiencing tea through ceremony: accompanied by sweet confections, a serene space is enhanced with incense, floral arrangements, and art. For those who are not familiar with tea culture, you can compare the process to wine-making: The slow transformation over time, slow-process cellar practices, and aromas that range from light- to full-bodied. If you need a moment of peace and quiet, head to 119 Hester Street Tuesdays through Sundays, from 11am to 5pm.

World Cup Takes Over the City

At the Taqueria Ramirez, soccer is making waves. To celebrate the World Cup, the restaurant opened Socceria, a blend between a sports bar and a taqueria. They’ve already hosted an event for the Champions League Final, but are planning a few more soft openings on June 6th, 7th and 11th, with more likely as the tournament heats up. What’s better than good food while cheering on your favorite team with friends?

Bottega Veneta Presents Björk

It’s time for Björk to have her own exhibition and what better way to launch it than in her home country of Iceland? The exhibition at the National Gallery is presented by Bottega Veneta,  as patron and partner, and will travel to New York, Mexico City, London, Copenhagen, Tokyo and more. Björk has always been a multi-faceted artist, but this show presents totally new interdisciplinary work tied to her forthcoming music release, including large-scale audiovisual installations, deeply personal works and a newly commissioned film and sound. We can’t wait to see this in New York.
