Robyn Lynch: Ready-To-Wear AW24

Nostalgia for her formative years growing up in Ireland has always been at the heart of Robyn Lynch’s namesake label. Everything from her dad’s old denim to holiday keepsakes from her mum, and the sportswear Lynch and her mates religiously wore in their school days has seeped into the menswear designer’s collections. This season, she turned to the competing uniform of her younger sister Adrianna, who’s a professional Irish dancer. “I vividly remember all these weekends spent in sports halls at competitions, seeing the glitz and the drama that happened on and offstage,” said Lynch, who brought an extra dash of sparkle to her signature hybrid sportswear via dancing skirts worn over technical trousers – each embroidered with Celtic knots by John Carey Design, a legend in the Irish dance scene.

Designers like Carey will create custom uniforms for dancers which will be completely unique to what other competitors are wearing. This notion sparked a dialogue for Lynch, who wanted to explore the similarities between different forms of performance wear. Having previously collaborated with Columbia and Rapha, this season she turned to Italo sports giant C.P. Company, upcycling 10 jackets from its archive to create a series of one-of-one outerwear delights. Standouts included nylon zip-ups that came spliced with Lynch’s go-to Aran knits and a crisp white jacket that was reimagined as a cape. Lynch also linked up with Geox too, envisioning her very first footwear collab that drew on her dad’s favourite trainers from the brand. Lynch’s silhouette collides suede and leather with breathable fabrics, prepped and primed to kit out her loyal fanbase.
