Pharrell Taps Tyler, The Creator For His Latest Louis Vuitton Collection

Louis Vuitton has tapped Tyler, The Creator for its Spring 2024 menswear capsule.

For the collection, the rapper and founder of Golf Wang – a long time friend of men’s creative director Pharrell – fuses his signature preppy style with the dapper elegance of Pharrell’s vision for the house. And look at what happens when two of the GOATs collide.

Following on from Tyler, The Creator’s previous link-up with the house – where he composed the soundtrack for its AW22 men’s show – the collection features an assortment of jackets, jumpers, blousons, vests and trousers. For accessories, there are bags and trunks, dandy loafers, derby boots, waffle slides and golf shoes, as well as jewellery, hats and scarves.

The emblem of the collection is a Craggy Monogram, hand-drawn by Tyler himself, and hidden within LV’s signature flowers are representations of daisies and Airedale Terriers, which often populate the visual universe of the artist.

There are also a number of unique accessories up for grabs, including a Craggy Monogram cereal bowl with a matching spoon, golf accessories and a towel. We want more!

Tyler, The Creator says in a statement: “My main focus was making things I would wear all the time. I dress the same in a meeting as I do a performance or grocery store trip, so hand drawing the monogram felt like the perfect balance to me. The chessboard is one of the greatest things I’ve made and is definitely my favourite thing from the collection. The team was great to work with, it kinda felt like ‘Big’ with Tom Hanks. P has always left a door open for me, but I still can’t believe this one.”

Pharrell comments: “Tyler has been my close friend and collaborator for years and we’ve always connected on music and design. This collaboration is unique to Louis Vuitton because it’s a natural extension of our LVERS philosophy, building on our network of incredible artists and creatives. There are so many elements specific to Tyler built into these pieces and it’s been inspiring to see him hone in on his craft and collaborate with him for this Spring collection.”
