Omega releases the fourth iteration of their Planet Ocean timepiece.
Since its debut in 2005, Planet Ocean has represented the pinnacle of Omega’s dive-watch expertise, drawing inspiration from the Seamaster models of the 1960s. Two decades later, the brand announced a fully redesigned fourth generation collection that brings one of the most significant redesigns in the timepiece’s history. To mark the milestone, the Swiss watchmakers have rolled out a global campaign led by actors Glen Powell and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, whose screen presence reflects the bold spirit at the heart of the line.
Technical innovation is at the center of the redesign. A two-part case featuring an inner titanium ring reinforces the watch’s structural integrity at depth, allowing the models to maintain their 600-meter water resistance without a helium escape valve. Grade 5 titanium screw-in casebacks reduce weight and enhance durability, while all models are powered by the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8912, delivering 60 hours of power reserve.
All seven Co-Axial Master Chronometer models now feature a slimmer 42 mm profile, flatter sapphire crystal, and a more angular architectural structure. Sharp surfaces and integrated bracelets with flat links give the watches a contemporary edge while preserving the character of the originals. The new collection arrives in three bold colours: orange, blue, and black, each with a ceramic bezel ring and a matte black dial with updated Arabic numerals. Fans will note that the orange models, a signature of the ‘Planet Ocean’ line, showcase a newly perfected ceramic shade, while the blue and black variants present a more understated look.
To celebrate and introduce the collection, Omega hosted an immersive launch event at the Faena Forum in Miami, a venue chosen for its geometric architecture and direct connection to the water. The space echoed the campaign’s theme, with marine lighting, reflections, and a complete display of the new watches. Guests, including friends of the brand, explored the refreshed designs up close. Notable attendees included Colman Domingo, Glen Powell, and Antoni Porowski. See our favorites below.
