Florida has proven to be the place to be as Chanel opens its first boutique in Boca Raton at the Town Center mall. The Peter Marino–designed space, made to resemble eight individual salons, plays home to fashion, watches, fine jewelry, fragrance, and beauty. With custom silk- wool carpets, Venini lighting, and coromandel screens, it’s a slice of Coco’s apartment in Boca.

9) WESTWARD EXPANSION:

DAVID GEFFEN GALLERIES

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s extension, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Peter Zumthor and dedicated to LACMA’s permanent collection, will finally open this spring. In addition to blue-chip works by Jeff Koons and Pedro Reyes, the new space will also feature three culinary venues, the LACMA Store, a 300-seat theater, and the W.M. Keck Education Center. The inaugural exhibition will celebrate four different oceans as “muses.”
