Chet Lo: Ready-To-Wear AW24

Rallying his loyal band of followers, guests headed to the NEWGEN space at Old Selfridges Hotel to see Chet Lo’s spike-covered vision for the incoming season. Inspired by the terracotta sculptures that depict the army of the first emperor of China, models stomped down the runway to booming drums akin to a rousing battle song, with their hair slicked down with silvery foil reminiscent of the sheen on a metal helmet.

Featuring both men’s and women’s looks, silhouettes largely sat on the slinky side, oscillating between snake-like prints and Lo’s signature knitted thorns. Lo was sure to keep things progressive, reimagining his go-to technique by using it as a detail along trouser legs and sleeves as well as being the basis for full looks. Skin-tight silver dresses and two-pieces added an element of night-time flare, while hoods reminiscent of chain mail evoked strength and grit throughout.

Complimenting the looks were an assortment of pointed-toe shoes, with heels bouncing between subtle-toned, spiked wedges and more bright and bold shades, with socks provided by Pantherella. Fingers and nails had been dipped in the same shimmering paint as the hair, uniting the offering under one ferociously fierce umbrella.
