“Magnifying femininity” reads the Nina Ricci Instagram bio – a mantra creative director Harris Reed doesn’t take lightly. For AW24, the designer sent out a playful wardrobe that was not too flashy. He utilised various patterns like swollen houndstooth, pinstripes and polka dots for a distinctly Parisian feel. Transparent mesh body suits and breast-baring shirts made the collection feel sexy and daring, while fluff-lined hoods and head wraps evoked an opulent air. In classic Harris Reed style, drama was on the menu, with wide-brimmed hats and headwear in the shape of lanky, floppy bows appearing throughout.
The casting was refreshing, with Reed, alongside Ester Manas, bringing the most diverse range of body types seen so far in Paris this season. The collection was fun, feminine and theatrical, with Reed playing to his strengths.
