Dior Gives a Hollywood Makeover to Their Beverly Hills Boutique

The new flagship on Rodeo Drive celebrates the brand history with Tinseltown.

When thinking about Hollywood and Dior, the first thing that comes to mind is the brand’s knack for creating memorable celebrity moments. Take for example, the fabulous actresses that Monsieur Christian Dior dressed during Tinseltown’s golden age like Rita Hayworth, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marlene Dietrich (who famously threatened “No Dior, no Dietrich!”) In more recent years, standouts include Nicole Kidman’s chartreuse dress at the 1997 Oscars by John Galliano, and Mikey Madison at last year’s Oscars in a vintage-inspired gown. But the Dior and Los Angeles connection goes beyond designing beautiful clothes as Monsieur Dior found the city to be a paradise, dubbing it a “super-Riviera.” It comes as no surprise then, that the newly revamped Dior flagship, House of Dior, draws from this rich history.

Like its New York City sister, every design detail is planned to reflect the city it calls home. You’ll notice that immediately upon arrival: framed by the palm trees lining the drive, you approach a pared-back yet impressive white mansion. The window displays are filled with miniature vignettes, showcasing film sequences, red carpet moments, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of Monsieur Dior’s great odyssey in the United States. Designed by architect Peter Marino, the space is meant to be a “realm of dreams.” As such, you’ll find four floors of fashion, art, botanicals, and gastronomy. With an interior bathed in golden light and subtly adorned with the House’s signature codes, it’s the perfect blend of Parisian heritage with Californian modernity.

In the center of the boutique you’ll notice a magnificent undulating staircase that winds through a three-story garden. Created to exude a lightness, it makes you feel as though you’re floating from floor to floor. And speaking of the floors, the first two feature women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections, along with leather goods, jewelry, fragrances, and Dior Maison. Several limited-edition pieces have been specially produced to mark the opening of the West Coast boutique.

It wouldn’t be a true Dior space if Monsieur Dior’s love for the artists of his time wasn’t honored. A curated selection of remarkable works is displayed throughout the boutique, including pieces by Karine Laval, Adam McEwen, Florian & Michael Quistrebert, Jorge Galindo, Adam Fuss, and a vibrant commissioned painting by John McAllister. Furniture by Franck Evennou, Ado Chale, and Vladimir Kagan, along with custom panels of gilded and lacquered metal by Nancy Lorenz, further enrich the atmosphere.

One of the store’s highlights can be found on the third floor: Monsieur Dior, the House’s first restaurant to debut outside of Paris. Led by three-star Michelin chef Dominique Crenn – celebrated for her French-Californian culinary vision – the menu reflects the House’s enduring ties to Hollywood. Upon entering the restaurant, guests are greeted by a photograph of Monsieur Dior’s estate in Provence, the Château de La Colle Noire. The rest of the space is adorned with a lush plant wall and a commissioned painting by Nicole Wittenberg, creating an atmosphere of serenity, peace, and creativity throughout the exquisite culinary experience.

To top it all off, private VIP lounges on the top floor evoke the intimacy of 30 Montaigne while offering a terrace with breathtaking views of Beverly Hills. Monsieur Dior would approve.

House of Dior Beverly Hills is open now at 323 N Rodeo Dr, Beverly Hills.
