Pietro Simone

54 Morton St, New York, NY 10014

After a summer spent traveling, my skin needed a relaxing, refreshing treatment. Enter Maria at Pietro Simone’s newest outpost in the West Village and the perfectly named “The Relaxer Facial” which promised to help me unwind with a soothing, restorative facial. It certainly delivered as I felt at peace lying there as she worked her magic. After a thorough cleanse that included light suction to whisk away dead skin cells clogging my pores, she followed up with LED to calm my redness and ensure I left hydrated and glowing. Best of all, I looked so snatched that I even had friends text me to tell me so. I’m looking forward to going back and checking out their Exosome Dome, a multisensory experience that offers exosome therapy in addition to full body LED as well as a pulsed electromagnetic field therapy mat. Now that sounds like the ideal treat yourself moment during the hectic holiday rush. — Dora Fung, Editor-in-Chief

Rescue Spa

29 E 19th St, New York, NY 10003

Whenever anyone asks me where to get a facial in NYC, I always recommend Rescue Spa — specifically the Fix-It-All Facial. As the name implies, this is the facial that can solve pretty much any skin woe from dryness to sagginess to redness to breakouts. It’s especially good for those times when you can’t specifically identify what’s making your complexion look blah, you just know you need a little something. If you can get founder Danuta Mieloch’s hands on your face, by all means do it, but all of the estheticians at Rescue are incredibly skillful, and can customize a combination of microcurrent, peels, LED, hydrating masks, and a signature massage technique to get you glowing. The sleek space stocks a beautifully curated selection of skin, body, and hair products, but I can pretty much guarantee you will be leaving with something by Danucera, the line created by Mieloch herself. If you buy only one thing, make it the Cerabalm —the most incredible multitasker that can be used as a cleanser or as a mask. — April Long, Beauty Director

Joanna Czech

34 Howard St 2nd Floor, New York, NY 10013

Joanna Czech is about as celebrity as celebrity facialists get. She is justifiably renowned not just for her transformative techniques and warm demeanor but also for her encyclopedic knowledge about all things skin-related. She splits her time between New York, LA, and Dallas, so landing an appointment with her can be a challenge (and not for the financially faint of heart), but you would not be disappointed with any of the estheticians at her studio. Basically, anyone trained by Joanna is someone you can trust to be top tier. If you’re feeling puffy, go for the Manual Lymphatic Drainage facial, which can also include microcurrent, ultrasound, cryotherapy, and oxygen to redefine your features, or try one of the LED treatments, which include LYMA lasers to stimulate collagen and diminish redness. You can also book extra time in one of the studio’s full-body LED beds and get a Harklinikken scalp analysis while you’re there. — AL

Kariné Kazarian

27 W 8th St, New York, NY 10011

There are two things that keep my TMJ in check: the occasional Botox appointment, and a buccal massage at Kariné Kazarian‘s Greenwich Village studio. Every aesthetician possesses magic hands, spending a full hour coaxing tension from my jaw with precision and care. But the studio’s repertoire extends far beyond targeted relief—expect meticulous extractions, LED therapy, microcurrent treatments, and an arsenal of Biologique Recherche serums and masks, all delivered with a gentle expertise. — Sabrina Abbas, Managing Editor

Sofie Pavitt

241 Centre St 4th floor, New York, NY 10013

I’m a fan of medical grade non-surgical interventions, preferably in Seoul where you can get everything from exosomes to PDRN injected into your face. But consistent upkeep isn’t realistic since I don’t live there. While in New York City, I look for options that offer similar results, namely Sofie Pavitt, who is no stranger to getting K-beauty treatments. Her Liquid Microneedling Facial uses microspears, which creates tiny tears into the skin allowing for better penetration of growth factors, stem cells, and other active ingredients in addition to stimulating collagen. If you’re looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as reduce texture, this is the best bang for your buck short of going to the dermatologist for something stronger. And don’t worry if you have low pain tolerance — there’s no numbing, downtime, or needles. You’ll feel some tingling at best, making it suitable for all skin types. — Diana Tsui, Digital Editor
