Plus, the brand just opened their newest Paris flagship.
If it’s haute couture week in Paris, it’s also high jewelry season — a time to see spectacular creations featuring the rarest of gems. For diamond lovers, De Beers remains a perennial favorite, given their ability to source rare, exceptional gems and transform them into works of art. The latest collection, Vibrations, is inspired by the beauty of the waters that populate the countries from which they source their stones. Consisting of four sets dedicated to Namibia, South Africa, Botswana, and Canada, you’ll see gentle streams and riverbanks to powerful waterfalls reflected in the array of necklaces, rings, earrings, and more. Combining rough, natural diamonds with polished brilliant ones these abstract designs capture movement, energy, and light.
The first collection,“Echo”, as inspired by Namibia’s Fish River Canyon, was introduced during haute couture week with more to follow in the next few months. A meditation on the ripples created when a pebble is dropped into deep waters, the set reflects the quiet power and resonance of nature. Consisting of a transformable necklace, a ring (that features a 5.21-carat D Flawless diamond), a brooch, bracelet, and earrings, they’re all set with alluvial rough diamonds and polished white diamonds, for a mesmerizing play of light and contrast. For those seeking a true showstopper, the Echo necklace is a masterpiece with its breathtaking 1.12-carat Fancy Intense Blue diamond from the De Beers Natural Works of Art collection. Sourced in Namibia, the vivid blue hues reflect the waters of the Fish River and stands in stark contrast against 193 carats of round and baguette-cut white diamonds.
Within the high jewelry collection, “Riverborn” is interesting to note. Consisting of 12 unique pieces created with rough and polished diamonds sourced through the GemFair initiative, they highlight the brand’s deep connection to its diamond-producing communities. Also shown was De Beers’ signature Diamond Lines designs featuring a necklace, bracelet, and drop earrings. And finally, you’ll also find a set of new, exceptional Toi et Moi rings that capture the intimacy, individuality, and everlasting luxury of diamonds.
The unveiling of this first chapter in their high jewelry series also marks the opening of the largest De Beers flagship store to date. Located at 12 Rue de la Paix, a street synonymous with haute couture, you’ll find a thoughtfully designed space that serves as a subtle homage to South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana. With details like an impressive wall of kimberlite (the rare host rock in which diamonds are found) alongside one-of-a-kind artworks created in collaboration with local and international artists and artisans, these elements symbolize the brand’s exceptional diamonds and its rich design heritage.
