The 10 Best Dressed at the BAFTAs

Wunmi Mosaku, Stormzy, and Renate Reinsve were among our favorites of the night.

With the 2026 BAFTAs wrapping up earlier this evening, we’re finally in the award season home stretch – and the stars are taking big swings to make sure we don’t overlook them. One common theme among the best dressed was to take the classic tuxedo and twist it to tease out either seriousness or sex. Timothée Chalamet continued his campaign to be taken more sincerely in a sharp Givenchy by Sarah Burton tuxedo. Pitch black with a wide trouser and wider lapels, the suit had a greater heft than the jovial butter yellow suit he wore to the Oscars last year. Riz Ahmed went shirtless under a pinstripe Saint Laurent suit with a sculptural jacket and slight flare to the pants that beefed up his presence. Similarly, Stormzy wore a sharply tailored Gucci tuxedo by Demna that was accessorized with a Tiffany & Co. carnation brooch. The cut was so clean, it was impossible not to be excited for Demna’s upcoming vision of minimalism. However, the best tux of the night belonged to Tilda Swinton’s from the Chanel Métiers d’Art 2026 collection. Tucking the shirt in to accentuate the cropped boxy jacket conjured her past role as Orlando, the iconic gender-bender.

For dresses, the stars turned to a deep bench of designers for daring looks. Teyana Taylor continued her streak of unexpected choices, clad in a Burberry satin trench dress with a frilly collar that enveloped her face. For a surprise, the dress’ high slit let a major leather boot emerge. Playing with color, Wunmi Mosaku took the Best Supporting Actress trophy for Sinners in an electric blue fringe dress by independent U.K. designer Ahluwalia — fitting since it’s also the middle of London fashion week. Rose Byrne also used a weightless and yellow Miu Miu gown to bring a needed warmth to the ceremony. Opting for the severe, Renate Reinsve led the Louis Vuitton pack in an incredibly sexy black dress that revealed a tranche of her abdomen and extended her run of delirium inducing looks. Ellie Bamber wore a semi-sheer with a vintage Armani dress from the fall1994 collection with an amazing beaded pattern that required little fuss to dress up. Finally in a big reveal, Gracie Abrams showed up in another Chanel Métiers d’Art 2026 collection with a major accessory – Paul Mescal.
